Chapter 14

Jack's PoV:

I could tell something was wrong. I looked around at Baby, she seemed worried and cautious. Her eyes drifted to me and she had fear in her eyes. Something was wrong with Mark and she could sense it.

Mark's PoV:

He's there. I can feel him trying to break through. He's trying so hard but I'm not giving up. Not now. I can't. I'll let them down. I I can't do that. I pulled over and got out of the car.

"Mark?" Jack's voice was laced with fear and worry.

I held the side of my head shaking it violently. I was on my knees with my head resting on the ground.

"Mark, get in the car, we're only 10 minutes away from your house. We need to be further. Jack you drive, Mark you come in the back with me." Baby instructed. I got in carefully.

"I can't drive." Jack's eyes filled with worry as he looked around to us.

"Ya know what, Jack get in the back, I'll drive."

"How can you drive? Your only 16."

"Im smart that's why." They did a switch and Baby started the car. She sped off and kept her eyes on the road.

"By the way, where are we going." Baby asked.

"Let's go to Bob and Wade's." Jack said. (Cause ya know, they live together now apparently 😂)

"Ok. I know where I'm going then. Just comfort Mark and make him think happy thoughts for me Jack." Baby asked. They worked well together. I sat there with my head in my hands while they were talking to me, saying good things. Dark's power seemed to deteriorate after a while and I felt safe.

I say up a bit and noticed that we were here. We all got out the car and walked up the path, Jack knocked on the door. It was opened swiftly.

"Hey guys and girl."

"Sup Bob, we need a place to stay and I know it's short notice but we really need it and..." Jack rambled.

"It's cool, we don't mind."

"Awesome. Can Mark have a bit of doctor treatment, we'll explain later." Jack muttered.

"Long story." Baby explained. We walked into their house, or in my case, stumbled, and I sat down on their sofa. Baby sat next to me looking in my eyes.

"Can I have some water please?" She asked, "ok Mark I'm gonna need to rid your mind of Dark, otherwise he's gonna take control of you and kill everyone, got it?"

"I think so. How'd you know how to do this. Are you a witch?"

"No, I just had to do this a lot when I was younger." She shook her head quickly, trying not to remember something.

"Here's your water." Bob said.

"Ok, now I need you all to wait in another room, I don't want Mark to be distracted."

"Yeah ok. Let's go for a walk you two." And with that Wade led Bob and Jack outside. Baby kept her eyes on me the whole time. She dipped the tips of two of her fingers in the water.

"Ok, this may feel like a baptism/christening but it's not." She gave me a weak smile.

She drew a cross on my forehead and started speaking gibberish, keeping her eyes locked with mine the whole time. I felt myself get sleepy, I was about to ask her if this was normal when I heard a voice in my head fade.

"Don't think I won't get you. I'll always be here..." His voice faded.

"Is he still there?" I asked.

"He shouldn't be." She kept her eyes on me. I studied every part of them. She had beautiful baby blue eyes, like Jack's but clearer. There were golden flakes in them and there were specs of green and grey in them. They held so much wonder and life behind them. That is until they turned red for a second before quickly turning back. She must've noticed the slight fear in my eyes because she got up and ran down the hall. I tried to call after her but she didn't listen.

Maybe she's got a dark side
