Chapter 2

Luna, that was using a fake last name Smith, one of her many fake identities, works for SSN, a private military company that works for both private clients and government. The company's missions go from arresting big drug dealers, assassins, and state enemies, to rescuing and locating people. Whatever the public forces couldn't accomplish, SSN did with the necessary discretion, having in the company's history countless highly secretive missions, involving several state secrets.

SSN have five small teams composed of eight persons maximum, an amount highly effective to guarantee discretion and secrecy needed on most missions. Each team has a leader, that reports directly to Pedro and Caio Rodriguez, the SSN's owners, former militaries that after dropping the army opened the company. Known for being completely fair and incorruptible, the brothers, besides running the whole SSN, also lead their own teams. With the same profile as Castro, but with a less dark countenance, both have skills and extraordinary experiences, they are great leaders, and SSN only prospered by their command, such as their hiring motto was "We only work with the best", which was the honest truth.

Despite working for SSN, each leader has their own way of working. The missions always have the approval of Pedro and Caio, who designate it to some of the teams to execute it, and from that moment on each leader has the liberty of acting according to their style, as long as they always respect the higher laws, because they aren't limitless mercenaries.

SSN is composed of highly skilled agents that made the task that most people can't do, respect an honor code and the state laws. The exceptions are the occasional death of criminals that occur as a "side effect" of their missions. Because not always it's possible to deliver the bad guy alive for the government apply its punishment; but this was the least important, the government didn't really care, and the SSN cared even less, the world is, without a doubt, a better place without these criminals.

Both Pedro and Caio completely trust on the team leaders, their work relationships are long term and their relationships actually overcome the work sphere, they are all friends and with time they've become a big family. Lúcio and Castro are the oldest leaders, they've started together when SSN was founded, they were on the same team at the beginning.

Luna couldn't even imagine a team composed by Castro, Lúcio, Pedro and Caio, there were a lot of alpha male together. No doubt they've must be invincible, but she couldn't see any of them following orders from each other.

"It must have been something interesting to see", she thought, playful.

The fact is that was with that team that SSN started its activities, and 16 years later it was the main name when people talked about secret missions and practically impossible since hostages retrieval to great empires of drugs and people's contraband. At each well-done mission it was bigger the fame and demands, today they work for more than six governments, besides people who look for them to private jobs.

Its structure also evolved a lot since the company's beginning, now they have a war complex highly safe, where the teams and Rodriguez family live. Rodriguez is the last name that Pedro and Caio proudly carry among their younger siblings and parents.

The Complex, as it's known the Rodriguez's home, it's the SSN headquarter; it has its own flight tracks and a basic hospital, many gymnasiums and specific training places. It offers their agents the best conditions to training and being the best. The site is separated by wards, each team has its own, in each ward, there are houses where they live and a training structure. Although it's considered a War Complex, the place is beautiful and harmonious, who see it from the outside would never imagine that this place is the headquarter and dwelling of SSN agents. The property is bordered by a river that gives a singular beauty to the place.

Luna was the youngest recruit of Castro's team, she barely could believe that's been already eleven months since she arrived at the SSN Complex for her meeting with Pedro and Castro. Eleven hard working months of adjustment, a lot of heavy training, team engaging and mainly with the leader, who isn't someone easy to deal with, something about him still made her uneasy.
