*3rd person POV*

Louis hasn't gone a day without crying since the breakup. Nothing has been able to mend his broken heart. Friends have brought ice cream and their condolences. His parents have given him their support and unconditional love. His countless admirers have offered him dates and their own selfish ways of forgetting about Harry. All of it has gone to waste, for nothing but Harry can make Louis whole again.

He longs for his cheeky, green-eyed boy to be back in his arms, but is too afraid that he won't take him back. His friend, Liam, has attempted to coax him to move on and pursue one of his possible lovers, but all he does is refuse and sob "Harry." He knows it's not healthy to be this shattered over some boy, though he simply can't help it. To him, Harry is not just some boy; he is the only boy that he'll ever want again. In his heart, he knows that Harry is his soulmate.

Harry isn't doing much better than Louis is. His heart aches for the small, girlish boy who used to be his. Unlike Louis, though, Harry has been very irate. He's been so angry at himself for losing the one guy in his life that actually mattered that he's been taking it out on other people that try to flirt with Louis now that he's single. The lanky lad knows it's wrong to behave this way. Whether he likes it or not, Louis is not his boyfriend anymore. Therefore, he may romance anyone he fancies and Harry can't stop him.

Harry wants to change this. He needs Lou back in his life. Without him, he's back to being the same man who slept around and didn't give a damn about anybody. The blue-eyed man made him a better person, and he needs to get back together with Louis before that person is lost forever.

That day, three consecutive weeks after their separation, Harry finally decides to talk to him and beg for him back. He knows he needs to do this before Louis gives into one of the many hungry for him. He needs to do this before it's too late.

"Louis?" Harry speaks up nervously, approaching the frail boy.

Louis looks up at him in shock, probably stunned that Harry is even here right now. Harry doesn't blame him. For the past three weeks, Harry has been avoiding him, too afraid that if he tries to win him back, Louis will reject him or say that it's too soon. However, it's time that they both get over themselves.

"Yes?" he gulps, swallowing the mass of emotion that's formed in his throat from seeing Harry again.

"I know I may be the last person you want to see right now and there are so many things I should apologise for before I ask you this, but may we please get back together? Please? And before you say no, just please hear me out. I really, really need you. It sounds cliche, but my life has been hell without you. I'm not the same man when I'm not with you. You make me the best version of myself, and I can't lose him or you. Please give me a chance to show you that I want to be better for you. I'll do anything it takes if that means I can have you back in my life again," Harry pleads on his hands and knees in the middle of the school hallway for everyone to witness.

To say that Louis is surprised is an understatement. He's overwhelmed with how much love, passion, heartbreak and ingenuity is heard and felt in his speech. It takes every single fiber in his being not to break down and take Harry back in seconds. No matter how much it hurts him, he knows that he can't just forgive him on the spot. He needs to work for it and show that he really means what he says. After all, actions speak louder than words.

"As much as I would like to kiss you right now, I can't give in that easily. You need to change. You need to be able to control your jealousy and accept the fact that even though a lot of boys hit on me, I would never choose them over you. You can't make me drop all my friends for you. You have to show me that you trust me," Louis negotiates firmly.

"And I'll be testing you," he adds with a smirk.

"Of course I will. I'll spend the rest of my life proving it to you. Thank you so much for my second chance," Harry grins giddily, hugging the small boy close to him.

He's so happy to have Louis back in his embrace. It feels as if it's been an eternity since he's had the pleasure of doing so. It feels so right. He knows, right then and there, that Louis is meant to be in his arms forever. One day, he's going to marry this boy.

Thoughts?

What do you think of how each of them coped with the breakup? Should Louis have made him work for it? Will Harry be able to control his jealousy?

I really hope you liked it. I have been looking forward to this chapter since I got the idea over a month ago.
