mark wanted to fucking off himself. no, not literally of course, but maybe slam his head into the lunch table multiple times. maybe that would do the trick.
it isn't a 'spur-of-the-moment' thing, it never is with renjun and jeno, or with taeil and donghyuk, so it really shouldn't bother him. it's a double date, and mark has had those before, multiple times even, with his boyfriend, who is (very unfortunately) not here. hasn't been present for 6 months now, now that mark actually counts up the days in his head. he can't remember what the feel of jaemins hand in his feels like at the moment or what his smile looks like in person, not blurred by the few pixels the screen of his 4 year old laptop provides.
the table honestly has never looked so inviting.
it's not that mark doesn't necessarily support the reason jaemin is away (he knows a herniated back disk is nothing to think lightly of) but that doesn't mean he likes the fact that his boyfriend is away, in a hospital, missing him. mark would go visit him, wants to so bad, but his schedule prevails, and unfortunately interferes with hospital visiting hours.
it isn't marks fault that school ends at 4, visiting hours end at five, and that the hospital is exactly a two hour distance from the range of school and home.
that, of course, leaves the weekends, which by unstated law, are the busiest among them all. it consists of loads of homework from fifth and sixth period respectively, sat prep, being forced onto the church ground halls to pray, being forced to visit relatives, his parents working( therefore being unable to drive two long hours down the busy roads to the hospital jaemin has been in for 6 months), and being nagged on by all the other hyungs. weekends are out of the option.
so this is where mark finds himself, buried face down on the couch from his previous position sitting in front of the table. the table really did look nice enough and hard enough to actually do some real damage to mark's head, but after thinking about it ( thinking at all, doyoung states) he might not want to be admitted into the hospital a short time period before jaemin gets out.
suffocating himself in the couches' cushions had to be the next best thing.
