I stood completely still after reading Tom's letter, reading the name of my father and brother 4-5 times. I started to panic, was she really this insane to send me out to die like this? Had I done something wrong for her to punish me? But a punish never had me leaving the house, sure a whip or four but it would only leave scars not... Death. Now I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, and if I go back I'm sure to get some kind of beating for not giving grandmother her medicine; That I never had! This is such bulls-
There were suddenly rustles in the bushes behind me making me turn around to inspect the sudden noise.
"Who's there?"- I stupidly ask.
"Shoot, no use hiding anymore boss. Time to come out with our hands up"- A not so quiet whisper came to and two tall men came out of hiding; One from a bush, and another one from on top of a tree. "Well, what to do with her then she's seen our faces" The raspy voiced man said while moving forward to me. As he came to the sunlight I could see the details on his face a little better; He had a scar over on his left closed eye, and you could see the paleness on his face as if he could be wiped out of existence in any moment. He was wearing black buttoned down shirt with black jeans and he had a shotgun in his belt.
I gulped in cowardness, I could barely breathe after I saw the gun, it's not that I've never seen one before, it's just that I have never been the hunted before. Were they sent to kill me? By Samantha? Is she that tired of looking at my retched face every morning?
"Well, I don't know Kyle, I kinda like her. Her hair is so beautiful, shining like the night sky, with a burning village in the bottom. And let's not start about her eyes." The man that came out of the tree... he was way different. Ears... And a tail, like a wolf. With eyes so red they could turn you into stone of how disturbed they are. He was dressed different also, a tuxedo with a red tie matching his striking eyes. His beauty struck me a little, making me slightly blush.
"W-what is this?" - I started walking back "Please, I-I can give you anything you want.. Just don't kill me"
"Sorry lady" Kyle, the man with the raspy voice, said "orders are orders" It was at that point that I knew the only thing I had to do to save my life, was to run.
I started to sprint through the forest, leaving everything I had behind me, the way to get back home, food, water, everything I needed to survive for a few days gone because of some stupid assassins. That, by the by, were following me just right behind my footsteps. They were really fast and could keep up almost easily, especially the wolfman that was intelligent enough to grab me by my cape and pulled me. All I could feel next was something hit my head, and blackness.
We were all walking down in a similar road that I was walking in. Gravel road, animals scurrying from you, tall trees and bushes. It all looked so beautiful. We were walking, Tom and I playing ahead than my mother and father who were talking behind us. They were the perfect couple, hand in hand, my dad picking and giving her flowers, she blushing as he put it in her hair saying something like "it still not as beautiful as you". My mom loved my dad very dearly, he was her knight in shining armour, and we ruined that for her. As we were walking, a growl was suddenly heard. Tom and I thought none of it and continued playing, but my parents were beginning to call us worriedly. As we went back to our parents the creature leapt out of the bushes trying to attack us. It was headed towards Tom and I, and my father seeing this he brought the wolf's attention to him. After that... blood everywhere, we saw our father being shredded into bits by the wolf. After just seconds my mom grabbed both of us and started crying and running back to the house.
