Eunseo had been wandering everywhere all by herself and the three boys couldn't catch up with her. After a while, she spots someone familiar crouching down and nears him.
"Jaehyun,"
The boy lifts his head up, looking at her. She crouches down beside him with him still staring st her. "I've been looking for you," she says.
"Me?" He raises an eyebrow.
Eunseo notices how weird that came out and fakes a cough. "I meant all of you, haha, yeah." She mutters. "Anyways, what are you doing?" She takes a look at the stall and realizes Jaehyun was playing a game.
"I've just started playing. Wanna join?" He asks. She shakes her head and only watches him play. "Are you having fun?" He asks her and she got surprised for a second before nodding. She was happy to be back home. She missed everything about it. "You know, you look like a different person." He utters.
She tilts her head, not understanding what he meant. He glances at her before talking again. "I don't know how to say this, but you seem very friendly and easy-going. I'm not saying you weren't but you were kind of shy before when we first met."
"Are you saying me cursing is shy?" She asks. "Because as far as I remember, I cursed a lot when we first met."
"Well, excluding that. I don't really find cursing that bad. Everyone here seems to love you and have lots of respect for you. I've never really felt that way." He confesses. She frowns a bit before turning to look at him.
"You probably don't realize this, Jaehyun, but everyone around you, adores you. They feel very grateful that someone like you is there. Without you, some things might not be able to work. Like, your brother-kind-of-friendship with the rest. They really love you, for who you are and accept every single thing about you."
"Even you?"
His question caught her off guard as she hasn't blinked for more than 30 seconds. She faked another cough and looks away, shifting her gaze towards the fish in the small pool. The game Jaehyun was playing. He had to catch the fishes in only three tries but he had only been talking to her.
"Even me," she mumbles and Jaehyun smiles slightly at her answer.
"And regarding about me, maybe it is true. I didn't notice this but now that you point it out, I do seem like another person back here. Probably because I've been living here all my life. It's natural I feel more comfortable here than there. I have friends here. You might not know, but I keep a low profile in school."
"You do?" He asks, raising an eyebrow oh-so-attractively.
"Well, if you don't include me hanging out with you boys, then yes. Not a lot of people know me. I'm still considered a new student and I don't belong anywhere. Most kids already have their cliques. I usually stay alone. It's kinda...hard, trying to befriend people. I become anxious and nervous all the time. I can't help but to watch everything I say."
"Then, what are we? Are we not friends?" he asks and she glances at him. "I might not know how that feels since I am always welcomed by my friends but what do you feel about us? About me?"
F this, Jung Jaehyun. I almost effing confessed.
"I...really treasure you guys. You are my...friend," she says. "Are you not?" She looks at him with pleading eyes. That question sounded much more rhetorical than she intended it to be. She didn't want to lose a friend from this conversation—avery precious one at that too, considering how far she went just to be friends with them. Jaehyun didn't answer her question and continued playing the game.
