Amber
The dark of the forest consumed all light, no noise filtered through the thick leaves. Glancing around I was in a clearing in the woods, a very tiny clearing though, barely five yards in all directions. My eyes flickered to the undergrowth surrounding the clearing. I tensed hearing a rustle in the distance. I saw a flash of light in the distance, where I heard the rustle. I tried to calm my breathing. This had happened before. It would bet he same. It alway was. But then I heard a loud scream. My heart stops. I turn and dash out of the clearing. He needed help. I didn't know who it was but he was hurt.
But something in my mind, my racing heart told me that was familiar. I felt a tug in my mind, a whisp of long black hair. Bright green eyes. Suddenly the forest floor gave way. I yelp and slip into darkness.
I land in a room that I have never seen before. The dream was different. Usually it was the same. No, it was always the same. But I never heard the screaming. I glance around nervously. Where was I? Then I saw. He was a young boy, my age I somehow knew, but he seemed younger because he was small and neglected. He was chained to the floor. His black hair was long and messy. His green eyes seemed filled with exhaustion. His shoulders held a sign of weariness. A man stood over him with a whip. It seemed to be electric.
"Spill it boy" the grown man spat and the boy glared at him
"I already told you, I don't know, and even if I did I would never tell you" the small boy spat hatred filling his gaze. The man sighed
"Fine then" I turned to leave the room. The young boys green eyes changed from hatred to confusion. But I could see the mans face now. He was smirking like we shared a private joke. Then the boy screamed. He had something around his neck that was electrocuting him. I screamed to the poor boy, that would kill him. The man laughed and laughed. I wanted to help, but I couldn't move, not before it was to late.
"I told you Sét it was best to corporate." He chuckled and left the room.

I woke up screaming. My classmates looked at me like I was crazy. I stood up quickly and glanced around. My heart was racing. I bit my lip to not scream again. I had tried to help him but the boy had died in my arms. I felt his skin turn cold. I look at my hardly started test. That hardly mattered to me anymore. If that was real... I couldn't let that happen. I learned when I was younger the power of dreams. They are more real then anyone believes. I grabbed the metal rail on my desk chair for support. My teacher walked over
"Amber, are you okay?" She asked and I nodded
"y-yeah, m-must be anxiety. I fell asleep" I admit telling half the truth. It was better then lying....
"I'm going to the office" I say simply and she nods.
"Of course, you can take the test when you are feeling better" she responded and I left. I was happy to be leaving the room.
I was tired of being looked at like the freak with nightmares. I go to the office and the lady sighs.
"Again dear?" The woman at the front desk sighed.
"Sorry" I sigh and go to the lay down room. I sit on the bed and swing my legs. It was only 2nd hour. I had seven hours in school, I was just done. I just wanted to go home. I lay down with a grunt and stare at the ceiling. After a few minutes I sit up. "Can I go home?" I ask. The woman at the desk nodded,
"Okay... Walk and be safe" she said. Normally no they wouldn't let students walk home alone...but I was a special case. I had nightmares a lot. I run a hands through my hair and head to my locker. I open the door after doing my com... 3,16,42.
I look over my locker. It was a mess. I should clean it. I grab my back pack and sling it over my back and slam my locker. Not today. With a sigh I turn and head to the front if the school. I turn and look at the board. There were lots of small things in there. Memories. A swing dance sign. I was in it before I started getting so sick. The school newspaper held nothing new. I reach out a hand to touch the board. I couldn't believe how much I missed out on. Then stopped and turn in a quick movement and walk out the front door.
