We got out of the cafe quickly.
The last time I've done something like this I was still in elementary school.
A giggle escaped Erwin's lips as I looked up to the sky.
Rain was pouring hard as we walked through people running looking for a dry spot.
"You look like a wet baby..." I said as he smirked looking down at me, brushing away his hair that was getting soaked.
As I was looking above I noticed I was starting to stare, he just smiled.
The rain was cold on my cheeks as I ran under a bus stop to breath out.
"You know that my car was parked there, right?" Erwin put his jacket on my shoulders while looking at the rain.
"I know, silly... Just..." My lower lip began to tremble as all the memories weighted on me in realization.
Erwin sat down, holding my hand as to follow him and sit down on the bench.
"I don't know what happened that hurt you to a point where you feel like crying..." Gently patting my head, he continued "But I don't think it's necessary for someone like you to fall for it, crying is not your thing." He just giggled, still holding onto it. "Buuut, if you're that sad, you can use my shoulder to wipe away your miserable tears."
"....." I didn't feel the need to make any sarcastic comment, either let go of his warm hand.
That was quite strange... I think I finally began to trust him more.

Erwin pat my hand and stood up, separating from the bus stop's ceiling, and splashed his foot on a puddle on the asphalt.
"What are you doing?" I shouted holding back my laughter.
"Feeling the rain... Do you want me to start singing too?" He smiled with his eyes closed, as the water was wetting his hair more and more.
"Dance with me and pretend the world doesn't exist..." Erwin smiled again, pleading with his eyes.
My heart raced as he offered me his hand. Something was changing and I didn't want that to happen. If I followed my heart that exact same moment, I would've been locked under his spell with no going back.
"Are we going to re-enact 'Singing in the rain'?"
The tall man standing in front of me looked down and smiled a little regretful.
I couldn't think properly.
"Let's head home, even big bad guys catch colds."
That was a good save, I thought, swiping off these odd feelings.
"I'm not bad..."
"Oh,you are. But you're my friend."
Erwin gulped.
"I upgraded?!"
"Yes..." I chuckled.

...
..
.

You took your keys out of your pocket and opened the door carefully, trying not to let them slip away on the floor.
Turning around, Erwin was more nervous than ever.
"Well, you better take a hot bath or you'll be sick tomorrow." You said smiling.
His eyes dropped on your exposed collarbone just to look above again and met your eyes.
He wore an awkward smile and you felt shyness in his voice.
"Y-yeah. You too."
Erwin's tone was warm and somehow sweeter.
...
"Wait here." You ordered, entering your apartment.
Few minutes later you left with a warm pink blanket.
He smiled but you were sure he wouldn't have liked the color or made a joke. He didn't.
"[Y/N]..." Erwin said as you tip toed to his height and put the blanket on his broad shoulders.
"Now you're good to go."
"Yeah... I am." He talked like he was on a cloud.
"Oh, " He turned around "I completely forgot. I'm going to Manhattan to sign some books... Woul-" He sighed, he shouldn't have went on with that specific sentence "I'll come back next week... Don't miss me too much eh?!"
You giggled "Well, it's Friday so it won't be much... See you then."

After he was gone, you threw yourself, still wet from head to toe, on the sofa and sighed loudly.
Nothing happened but thoughts weighted on your heart, it was some feeling that made breathing hard.
Everything was just so heavy on you.
Eventually you fell asleep but that was just a little glimpse of relax.
The apparent calm was going to fade soon enough to shook you even harder.
