Mitch watched Scott from his place with questions building up in his mind. I wonder where he's from, Mitch thought. Scott noticed Mitch staring and turned his head to the side.

"Yes?"

"Where are you from?" Mitch curiously asked.

Scott ignored him, instead, he kept his eyes fixated on the road. Mitch silently groaned. He's so annoying, why can't he just answer me?, Mitch thought.

"Hey, are you gonna ignore me? I just want to know where you're from."Mitch said.

"Same place as you." Scott answered.

"Arlington? You're from Arlington?" Mitch asked in disbelief. He was so sure that this guy was from Germany or somewhere outside America.

"Yeah."

A few moments of silence pass by. God, this is so awkward, Mitch thought. He mentally cringed at himself. He rested his forehead against the window, trying to look for something interesting to look at. After a while, his eyelids suddenly felt heavy, and let them close. He let the constant thrumming of the moving van lull him to sleep.

Scott grew bored of staring at the road and glanced at Mitch and froze. He saw something that he never saw before. Beauty. Absolute beauty. Shining brown eyes with lengthy lashes, perfectly arched eyebrows, naturally pouty red lips, a side fringe that accentuates his high cheekbones. How did he miss it?. Scott was in awe. Goddamn, Scott thought.

TOOOOT TOOOOOT

Mitch flinched awake, and noticed the big- no, scratch that. Huge construction truck coming right towards them. "SCOTT WATCH OUT!" He yelled, trying to hit Scott's arm, and instead accidentally slapped Scott in the face. Scott's eyes widen and sharply swiveled the car to left, causing Mitch to bump his head against the window. "Aargh!"

"Damn, that was close." Scott muttered. Mitch snapped his head at Scott with wide eyes. "Close?! You could've gotten us killed!" Mitch said, his eyes darkening with anger. "I'm sorry, alright?! I was...distracted." Scott said.

Mitch huffed and plopped his back on the seat rather loudly, bringing a hand up to soothe his throbbing forehead. "What were you looking at anyways?".

Scott thought really hard before answering. "Something....I have never seen before."

"Like what? A tree?" Mitch sarcastically said.

It was getting really dark outside, and Scott flicked on the headlights. Mitch yawned and grabbed a blanket he had in his duffel bag. He wrapped himself in a cozy burrito and snuggled in it. He softly sighed, enjoying the warmth that his fuzzy blanket provided him. At the same time, Scott shivered from AC, and the cold air that descended from outside were making him freeze. His hands were getting cold and so is the back of his neck. Mitch noticed, and debated with himself whether or not he should hand Scott the oversized sweater he brought with him. It's the least you can do to repay him, Mitch thought. He releases himself from his burrito and reaches around the back of the van, searching for the sweater.

Scott looked at him warily. What's he up too?, he thought. Mitch returned to his seat and handed Scott the sweater. "Here, in case you're cold." Mitch offered. Wow, that's nice, Scott thought. "Thanks." Scott smiled at Mitch's act of kindness. He's not so bad, Scott thought. He swiftly slipped on the sweater and gripped the wheel again.

Once Mitch was back in his cozy burrito, he fell into a deep, relaxing sleep. Scott yawned and smiled at him.

The sun peeked from the horizon, causing the warm sunshine to fall on Mitch's sleeping face. He felt a pleasant warmth across his face and fluttered his heavy eyelids awake. He yawned and stretched his arms. To his right, Scott was visibly very drained. The blonde man had dark circles under his eyes, and is heavily breathing.

"Good morning." Mitch greeted. Scott kept his eyes on the road, eyes half-lidded. Um, did he hear me? , Mitch thought. He cleared his throat and repeated what he said, "Good morning, Scott."

Scott flinched and snapped his head towards Mitch. "Huh? what? Sorry."

He's so tired, it's so obvious, Mitch thought. "Are we almost there?" Mitch asked. "Yeah, we're pretty close to the house." Scott answered.

Should I offer him to let me drive?, Mitch thought. "Do you want me to drive? You look exhausted." Mitch offered. "Nah, it's fine. I can handle it." Scott said, his voice getting lower and deeper. Whatever, I already offered, Mitch thought. He felt a slight tinge of disappointment, but, he waved it off.

Through the front window, Mitch cautiously watched as skyscrapers, and glass-covered buildings came into view. Since it's still dawn, every window was lit up, creating an appealing pattern that Mitch can't take his eyes off. The sunlight from the rising sun just accentuates the amazing view. Mitch found himself at the edge of his seat, watching the view with sparkling eyes. He placed his elbows on the dashboard and rested his head.

"So this is New York." Mitch mumbled, the corners of his mouth lifting into a wide smile. He never felt so excited to explore and venture around New York City.
