Adrien x Marinette- A promise that I can't break

times have changed for both of us

"Hey there kiddo's, hurry and sit down," Adrian's father started. They sat down next to each other and everyone was silent for a while, "so, how have you been since we left marienette?" Adriens father asked.

" I've been fine, I met a girl named Alya and she is the best! We had a lot of fun since you guys left, but no one could replace that shorty" she laughed.

"I.am.not.short!" Adrien said pouting.

"Sure you arent" mari giggled.

"So, how have you been since you left Adrien" Maris mother asked.

"Oh, well I've been fine, I met a lot of friends-"

"Not to mention girls, a lot of girls had a crush on him" Adriens mother laughed.

"Mom!"

Adriens pov

I looked over to mari to see her laughing, but I know her too well. I could tell that in her eyes she was hurt. That what she does, she smiles and acts like everything is okay, but only I know what she hides behind that fake smile, emotions that she can't keep in a neat pile and she can't keep the in a nice file. They always find some way out and take over her. But she will always have a back up, and that is her fake smile, they hold back her emotions. If that don't work she intently falls apart. When we were kids and her barriers broke down she would always come to me, it made me feel special.. to know that she always came to me instead of her own parents. But what I left the only thing that was on my mind was that if she was okay, and who was there when she needed me to talk to. What if she did something and she couldn't talk to her friends or parents about it.. it always scared me..

Flash back

"Hey! Mari! Look! I found a spider!" I yelled in exitment.

"Really?! Cool! Where is it?!" She said spreading her wonderful smile on her face.

I showed her that spider and she intently took it from me and she started playing with it.

"Hey.. Adrien.."

"Hmm" I looked up and saw her looking down.

"I did something very bad.."

Confusion intently hit me, what could she have done that was so bad? "What did you do Mari?" I asked

"I-I killed a spider!" Tears ran down her face.

My eyes widened "oh my, Mari come here.." I held her in my arms and she cried. "How Mari?.."

"I-I acsordently stood on it, I said sorry many times but it didn't move.." she answered still in tears.

This broke my heart, this was the first time I ever saw her cry. I mean this is Mari we are
about. She is usually a tsundere..

I held her not letting her go.

Ever since that day I became her guard dog. I stood with her where ever she went.. well not every where, they were exeptions.. like when she needed the rest room.. I looked after her.. and she looked after me, we were unseperible (sorry I know I spelt that wrong..) well that was until that day.. it was hard for me to tell her.. it was hard for me to let her go.. but I had to.. I had no choice in the matter..

When I told her she smiled at me, but I saw that smile before, so I looked in her eyes and saw lots of emotions, after I understood her feelings I held her in my arms not wanting to let her go. It was hard to.. but I had to.. we soo forgot about it and went on with our kid lives until I had to leave which hurt her mentally and physically.. and it hurt me mentally and physically too for a long time.. as for mari.. I don't know.. I wasn't there, and that hurt me more than anything else. I wasn't there to protect her, I wasn't there to see her smile and act like a tsundere.. it hurt me so much. I tried running away multiple times, only to be caught in the process. My parents kept on promising to visit.. but they never did.. I never stayed in contact so I didn't talk to her it was hard for me to grow up. Girls flirting with me, but I was too loyal to my tsundere, I didn't want them as my girlfriend, lover or wife.. I wanted my princess, my Mari..

And now I am here I finally have got that chance and I will not give it up that easily.. there is no chance of that happening...

Well that is what I thought before I became the hero of Paris..
