They had their breakfast and Randhir and Sanyukta were now sitting in their room, watching a web series on the laptop. Thirteen Reasons Why.
"I feel so bad for Hannah." Sanyukta mouthed, her attention was at the laptop screen. Randhir shot his head up to look at her. She had tears in her eyes. Don't blame her! The sad story of a girl named Hannah Baker who committed suicide could make anyone cry. She was no expectation, but Randhir was.
They were on episode number 9, the scene where Bryce raped Jessica. Randhir sighed, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"It's okay. It's just a show." He chipped looking at his wife, who was wiping her running nose with a handkerchief. He chuckled. Yes, it was just a show. No wonder she hated guys so much! She twisted her lips and set her attention back at the screen.
"You're so cute." Pinching her nose, he said. Cute. The word she hated the most. Who invented that word? She cringed hard on listening to the compliment her husband had just given her. Given a chance, she would kill the person who started using that word with bare hands.
"I'm not cute." Frowning, she replied, emphasizing on the word - not. Randhir looked at her with a blank expression on his face. His wife was weird. Girls liked listening to compliments, and she hated it. She didn't understand how to respond to them. Should one be happy and chip a thank you? Or should one do that without any expressions?
"Okay, fine you're not." He shrugged, looking at the screen which played Jeff's and Clay's scene. Sanyukta ignored him and looked at the screen, munching on her favorite - oreo biscuits.
One hour passed, and she was now bored. She wanted to talk to him but his eyes were busy making love to the screen of the laptop. Sighing, she looked at the clock, it was four pm. She looked back at Randhir and poked her index finger on his biceps.
"What?" She heard his voice. What the hell! He didn't even look at her. Ignoring everything, she spoke.
"I'm bored." She said. Randhir paused the episode and looked at her. Her lower lip was tucked out, and she was looking at him with pleading eyes. Randhir blinked his eyes twice and kept looking her and his brain worked on finding a good reply.
"...and what am I supposed to do?" He shook his head a bit, smiling. He could do anything for her!
"Let's go out somewhere please? I don't want to watch this anymore and even you have taken just a week off so I want to spend time with you because from next monday, you'll be joining office again and we won't get much time for each other." She said in a go.
She did want to spend time with him and have fun with him. She did not know what made her say all these things to him, but all she knew was, that she wanted him all for herself for the next seven days.
She had her eyes glued to the ground, her lower lip between her teeth, and his eyes were at her, which made her feel jitters in her stomach. He smiled. She acted cute one moment, and the next moment she found it difficult to even look at him.
He too wanted to spend time with her and know her properly. They didn't know anything about each other except for their name and qualifications. Randhir was an engineer, and Sanyukta, an air hostess.
"Okay, biwi. Get ready then we'll leave." He winked, putting the laptop back in the bag and keeping it at its right place, he walked out of the room. Sanyukta smiled, pressing her lips together.
Their first date!
