It was five in the evening when she was getting ready in her room, and Randhir wasn't back home. Thinking he must be busy somewhere, she dumped all those thoughts and fixed her attention back at adjusting her plain black saree with red borders.

Putting on some of her red matte lipstick and a little bit of compact, she was done. Randhir was still not at home, so she decided to go downstairs and sit with Renuka for sometime.

Renuka was a nice woman and she was a great mother! The values which she had inculcated in Randhir proved it. She was a loving mother to her as well. Though it had been only twenty four hours of their marriage, but the way she handled her, made Sanyukta feel really good.

Switching off the lights and the fan, she walked out of the room when she found Renuka sitting on the couch, watching television. She smiled adjusting her bangles, and went near her, taking a seat next to her. As Renuka felt someone sitting beside her she turned to find Sanyukta who was smiling at her. She smiled back.

"Were you going somewhere?" Renuka asked, eyeing her from head to toe.

"Mumma, I wanted to go out. So we decided to go somewhere. I'm waiting for Randhir but I don't know where he is. He left one hour back and he's still not back." She replied.

It was now five thirty and she was kinda scared. The worst part was, that he didn't even tell her where he was going and he was not even answering her calls. She wanted him in front of her, so that she could kill him.

"Don't worry, he'll be back. This is not the first time he has done this." Taking the weekly magazine and turning to page three, she spoke, sighing.

That was one annoying habit Randhir had, he would go out somewhere without even informing anyone and later on, wouldn't even answer the calls. Sanyukta sighed. It was good that he was safe but then, the same thing irritated her like anything!

"By the way, don't be so worried. He's not a kid. He will come back." Her chain of thoughts was broken by Renuka. Sanyukta looked at her and smiled, and quickly went upstairs to her room.

How could she not be worried about her own husband!?

"Why people in this house are so careless?" She questioned herself pacing back and forth in the room. Somewhere, she didn't like the remark Renuka made. Obviously, he was not a kid and she knew he could take care of himself, but that did not set free him from all the troubles he would face in life.

Her phone buzzed, gaining her attention. It was her mother's phone call. It was such a relief to see her mother's name flashing on the screen. Because of all the problems, she didn't even talk to her mom after she came here. Not even once!

"Hello." She spoke. She was annoyed and anyone could make out after listening to her voice.

"Sanyukta? Are you okay?" Her mother asked, concerned.

"Yes, don't worry I'm fine." She smiled. Her mother was concerned for her, but she couldn't tell him that she was in stress because of her idiot husband. If there was something she wanted to do right now, then she just wanted to have Randhir in front of her and hug him.

"Okay. I just wanted to make sure that you are okay. Take care. I'll talk to you later." Saying this, her mother hung up, and she heard the door of the room open. Turning around, she saw Randhir. He was exhausted.

"Where were you, and what happened? Why do you look so tired?" As soon as he entered, she threw questions at him. He looked at her, and made her sit next to him.

"I went to the police station." He said, directly looking into her eyes. She was shocked. Why did he go to the police station? What happened? Was he alright? A number of questions covered her brain, but she chose to remain silent and listen to him.

"An accident happened, and it was a hit and run case. There were few eye witnesses and I was one of them so I had to go to the police station to give my statement." He explained.

She didn't know what to feel. She didn't know whether to be happy because he was safe or to be upset because he landed into trouble, but then, as they say - all well that ends well!

"I'm really sorry but I won't be able to go anywhere today. I'm tired. Emotionally and physically." He apologized. He felt bad for turning her down when he himself asked her to get ready but it was too much for him take.

"It's okay. Don't be sorry, I understand. You must be hungry. I'll bring something for you to eat." He looked at her and saw her smiling. He relaxed a bit after listening to her reply. He had this fear that probably she would get angry but the fact that she understood her condition made him feel really good.

Saying so, she threw a smile at his direction again and went to the kitchen to prepare something for him. He had seen one accident happening in front of his eyes and she knew how emotional he was. He needed time, and she was happy to provide him with that. She knew what she felt for him for more than just liking, and maybe, a little less than love. Whatever it was, it was beautiful.

Randhir was in his room, sitting on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

"I hope that woman is fine." He said to himself when he saw Sanyukta entering their room with a tray in her hands.

"Here, have these sandwiches." She said, forwarding the tray to him. He really didn't want to eat anything at that moment, but he didn't say anything because he couldn't make her upset for the second time in the same day. It was difficult for him, she knew it. Nobody would be dancing with joy if they had seen an accident happening in front of them. She knew he needed time to register what had happened.

"Don't worry, she'll be fine." She rubbed her hand on his back, trying to calm him down. The look he had on his face clearly depicted how upset he was.

"That woman will be okay, Sanyukta, but what about the baby? She was pregnant." He spoke, and she had no words.

"I have seen this happening for the second time. My cousin lost her child in the same way. That man who was driving should be punished!" She just kept looking at him. Now she knew why it affected him so much.
