Our Love and How it Lies

Show me what I can't see
And guide me where I can't be

~Show me why I can't breathe
Show me what I really need

Steal from me what I can't seek

~Give to me what I need to be

Bring to me my lonely dreams
And reveal to me that things aren't as they seem

~Bring to me my untrue smiles
Let my heart love for a little while

Hide from me the lies of men
And show me when they're true again

~Give to me the lonely thought
Disregard the pain they brought

Let me show you why I smile
So you may know that it's worth the while

~Let me show that my wish is true
So you know my heart beats for you

Let me save you from the dark
So that we may never part

~Say the things I could never say
Fill my lungs, you took my breath away

Open your arms, please let me in
Hold me tightly so I may never leave again

~Hold my heart, inside your cage
I'm inside darkness, from night to day

Take me far, away from here
Somewhere I will have nothing to fear

~So the sun gives me it's flashes
To give you breath I will burn me to ashes

I'll spread my wings wide open, taking flight
So I may take and spare you this terrible sight

~No greater sight than your skin in this sun
I'll return to nothing, bring me to one

If escape is the only hope that's left
Then let demons rise and destroy the best

~In your eyes, keep me close
Tell me you love me, that you need me the most

If I were to lose you, to be left all alone
I could never smile as I did, for I would never again have a home

~Don't fear my heart, for it might shut
But I'll need you to love me no matter what

If you looked at me, your eyes only filled with a cruel, demeaning hate
I do think I would begin to despise the world, with it's awfully twisted fate

~My heart, my soul, my breath, my mate
I will never know escape, you're all I have, my heart to break

If I could steal your heart away
Then maybe I would know what I need to say

~Just say that you love me and let your wings soar
I will always be here, eternally yours

Broken and beat-down, but beautiful to me
I hope you're aware that never will I leave

~I crave it, devotion, lifetimes and love
I need you to tell me I was always enough

To me, you are the sun, moon, and stars
My life would perish if you were to move far

~In the rains, they drowned the spark
In the darkness, we share the heart

If you were to die and I was left alone
I would lay by your grave because there was my home

~For you I will cast off darkness if I must
To steal from the night, to bring the dusk

You shine so bright it hurts to look
But even if I were to go blind I'm proud my eyes never took

You're smile lights the world I never see
And if you weren't there, it's a place I wouldn't want to be

~Your breath allows me to breathe
You are my sun, you're what I need

Your body is scarred and warms my soul
Without I fear I'd become a raging black hole

~Every life, every time, every touch
I'll find you always, my forever love

When I close my eyes and dreams fill my mind
All I can think of is you and the fear of being left behind

~Each wish unanswered, my thoughts resigned
I will chase you until the end of time
