I first appeared to Phil when he was four years old. He imagined me as many different things. For example; a prince, a pirate, and sometimes even both! But most importantly I was his best friend. My name is Dan, and I am Phil's imaginary friend.
When i was first imagined i was opaque, clearly visible to only Phil. To him I was the brightest thing in the universe, but as time went on i began to dim. I soon would become completely transparent, and invisible to Phil. But he was different than most children. His imagination was stronger, making me last longer. Usually imaginary friends only lasted until the child was 6, if they were lucky, but Phil was now 8. I had only dimmed slight. I was still bright and i was only slightly transparent.
When Phil turned ten he started to notice that i wasn't nearly as bright when i first appeared.
"Dan why are you not as bright as before?" Phil had asked in his soft voice.
"I'm slowly fading. As you grow older I will only become more transparent until one day i will completely disappear." By the time i had finished speaking Phil was in tears.
"I'm sorry, but someday i must leave." I said pulling him into my arms. He cried into my chest as i petted his ginger hair. This seemed to calm him down slightly.
"I don't want you to leave, Dan." Phil cried into my shoulder.
"I know, and i don't want to leave you." I held him closer allowing a single tear to escape.
Five more years passed and not much had changed. Phil was lonely, besides having me. He could never seem to make friends at school. He would constantly tell me that I was all he had.
I sat on his counter as he made a bowl of cereal for us to share. I stared at him contently. I never wanted to leave this amazing boy. But i knew one day i had to, and that day was coming soon.
"What are you staring at dork?" Phil smiled at me.
I chuckled, hopping off the counter and walking over to him. I wrapped my arms around his skinny waist and pecked his lips gently.
"You. Its amazing how much you've grown. And I'm so glad I didn't miss a second of it. You're amazing Phil!" (Pun intended XD)
Phil blushed madly as he looked down at his feet. I noticed a few tears fall. "I don't want you to leave. I need you. I love you. I might only be 15 but i know we belong. I know were soulmates."
I turned him around and lifted his chin to look at me. We stayed like that for a few seconds before i closed the gap. Our lips pressed together in a passionate kiss. Tears mingled in with the kiss.
As we pulled away i had become even more transparent, but this time i couldn't stop fading. I kissed Phil once more to distract him. It was more passionate this time. I pulled away and whispered in his ear. "I love you, Phil." As i finished i completely disappeared, and i knew my job was finished.Ahhhhhhhh! The feels! Would you guys like for me to continue this? because i do have an idea but I'm not sure. Please let me know in the comments! Love you guys, gals, and wonderful non-binary pals! Biaaa!
