Dana Scully always woke up at 5:30 AM, no question. She finishes her breakfast by 6:00, and leaves the house by 6:30 so she could get to work on time. The J.Edgar Hoover building was only a 10-minute walk away, but she stopped walking directly to work a long time ago. She was tired of the cat calling from the construction workers. Instead, she took the Metro. She walked to the closest stop, around 2 minutes away, and took the Metro downtown to the FBI building. She almost never talked to anyone, and mostly looked at the case notes she was bringing with her. If all else failed, she always carried a book. She arrives around 6:50, give or take a few minutes. No metro is on time 100% of the time. She took the elevator down to the lowest floor she could, and walked down the two flights of stairs to the office that she and her partner, Fox Mulder, shared. By the time she unlocks the door, it is 7:00 AM, when work officially starts.
Fox Mulder always woke up on his couch, no question. Even if he falls asleep in his bed, he ends up back on the couch. He has stopped trying to sleep in his bed anymore. Right after he wakes up, he feeds his fish. He gets changed, grabs his briefcase, and heads out the door by 6:45, no matter what. He lives about 5 minutes away from the J.Edgar Hoover building, right in the middle of downtown DC. He always stops at the café on the corner for breakfast. He always orders the daily special. A different meal every day. He grabs his food and eats while he walks. Sometimes, he stops at a newspaper stand to look at the tabloids and occasionally buys one. He usually checks in at the FBI building at about 7:01. By the time he makes it down to his office, it's about 7:10.
"Why are you always late, you live closer to work than me!" Scully was here already, Mulder smiles and unofficially starts the day,
"Scully, study up on your ghost-lore because we're going ghostebusting."

Under Investigation- An X-Files Fanfiction
FanfictionDana Scully and Fox Mulder are partners at the FBI and have been for years. They are what many consider friends. Unfortunately, something more than friendship is on the horizon. I don't own the X-Files, all credit goes to FOX, and Chris Carter.
