Warm drops of blood streaked down the side of my face. I stare at the silver blades that lay on the ground, covered in blood. A small glimmer in my eyes made me turn my back on the crisis that was obviously my doings. I meandered away from the empty body heading for the dim woods. No looking back.

My eyes widened, realizing that my life was going to change, that my life wouldn't even exist anymore. A strong shiver streached down the side of my back. I took a deep breath and crawled out of my den. A pool of rocks had surrounded our den, making it difficult to find food. I rushed over to pounce on a rock one at a time untill I reached the West Hutsin Forest. That place was as dark as night, but it was filled with the finest deer a wolf could ever dream of, and today I needed as much strength as I could. Today, I am supposed to fight the packs leader, if the leader decides that I'm not worthy enough, I'll be kicked out and become a lone-wolf. I travel farther and farther into the forest. Suddenly, my eye catches movement in the middle of a blackberry bush. " Bingo!" I whispered to myself. I crouched down as low as I could.

"Jackline, it's time to take your test!" My adopted mother was following me the entire time. The doe deer leaped from the bushes and raced to the deepest part of the woods. I slowly stood up from the crouch position and walked past her, giving her a dirty look. She snapped her teeth at me and narrowed her eyes. I ignored her and sprinted back to the den.

" I've been expecting you to fight me for quite a while Jackline. Are you ready to fight?" I stopped in my tracks as deep dark voice crawled up from behind me. I turned around quickly to see my pack leader was approaching me slowly with stormy eyes.

" Oh! It's you!" I said with a smile. " I wasn't expecting you untill later on today?!"

" I know, but I thought that if I came a little earlier, I would get more time to do the ceremony. Is this ok with you?"

" Oh yes it's fine! I just thought that I could get more practice if you came later." My voice trailed off making it harder to hear.

" I can leave and test someone else If you feel comfortable that way-"

" NO! She can fight right now just to get it over with!" My mother came bursting into the conversation.

" MOM! Get the hell out this conversation. It has nothing to do with you." I started to yell now, making my leader confused.

" Well excuse me little bitch. I just was saving your sorry ass! " My step mother stormed off leaving my leader and I staring at each other blankly.

" Sorry about that." I said dully. " We can continue to fight."
