Recap:

It had never given him undue hope. Never allowed him to dream, to have thoughts of Hestia plaguing his every waking moment. But fate had a way of throwing unexpected curveballs ones way. Here he was; five years later, holding the woman of his dreams in his arms. As though one so low as he, could ever have any rights over someone such as her. But he would take each day as it came, life had gifted him with something more than even his wildest fantasies, and he wouldn't overthink it.

Chapter 7:

Hestia let the smile spread over her face as she skipped down the path. She was headed to her new favourite place in the world. A new bakery had opened up a few streets away from her house, and sold the best donuts on the planet. It was official, she'd finally found her one true love.

She paid no attention to her surroundings, merrily hummed under her breath as she made her way to the bakery. Her smile only grew wider and brighter as she neared the haven for all sweet things. Quickly making her way into the shop, she gazed at the counters housing the displays of donuts and pastries in awe. Hestia could have sworn that she had never been happier.

An employee walked up to her, a friendly smile pasted onto his face. "Hello there, I'm Quinn. How can I help you?"

"Hi." Normally too shy to even make eye contact with anyone else, Hestia not only looked him in the eye; but sent a broad smile his way.

"I've seen you coming in here ever since we opened." He smiled, "Every single time, you're just as happy to be here." He laughed.

A blush worked its way up her face, heat radiating from her cheeks. Hestia focused her gaze onto the donuts as she stuttered and mumbled her way through a reply.

"I didn't- I'm...sorry?" She finally settled for an apology.

"Oh please, don't be! I was only teasing." He smiled warmly, "So what can I get for the pretty lady?"

Hestia could feel her blush intensifying, and her shyness skyrocketed. She couldn't even form words anymore, and simply pointed to the ones she wanted. He chuckled and quickly filled up her order.

"You know, it's only fair you tell me your name. I've already told you mine."  Quinn pouted.

"I'm Hestia." She smiled uncertainly. This was not exactly her forte.

He finally finished with her order and she swiftly paid. He slipped the receipt into the bag, and winked at her, "There is everything. And also, a small surprise for later."

Brows furrowed, Hestia simply stared at him. What did he mean? Quinn simply laughed and waved her away. She rushed out of the shop and in no time was skipping home with a box of sweets. As happy as could be.

Barely glancing at the car haphazardly parked in the driveway, she made her way up to her house. Letting herself in, she silently made her way up to her room. Put the box on top of her nightstand and jumped onto the bed, a content sigh escaping her.

"So she finally comes back home." An amused voice drawled.

Startled, she shot upright. A shriek escaping her mouth as she turned to face the man responsible. Jordan leaned against the closed door, as he surveyed her calmly.
