The teenage girl once again, let out a shaky sigh as she shivered at how cold it was that night.

The moon that hung over Paris was nowhere to be seen, as dark clouds hid it from sight. The brunette sighed once more as she heard the grumble of thunder.

The homeless girl named Marinette spent her days living in the streets, in dark alleys where no street lamps illuminated the area.

The brunette's tired, bluebell eyes were closing as she started to drift off to sleep.

'Aren't you......... that thief who robbed the Agreste mansion a few times before?' A familiar voice interrupted the silence that had wrapped around her comfortably.

Marinette sighed as the masked feline hero jumped down from the rooftops and landed silently in front of her with the help of his baton.

She composed herself and sighed yet again, her bluebell eyes unwilling to meet his cat-like ones. 'What of it?'

Chat Noir put away his baton and spoke jokingly, 'I should be arresting you right now, but I don't think the police department is awake at this time.'

'Seriously, what do you want?' Marinette let out another huge sigh, clearly annoyed at the masked cat.

The feline hero took a seat next to the brunette before responding to her question. 'Why are you out here so late? It's cold and going to rain soon.'

'How stupid can you be?' Marinette slapped her own forehead and shook her head at Chat Noir's idiocy. 'I'm homeless, okay?'

The boy in the black leather suit was taken aback by her reply and tone. 'Woah there. No need to get angered. I was just wondering.'

Marinette frowned in response. 'Curiosity is going to get you killed one day.'

'But satisfaction is going to pay for it all anyways, so no big deal!' The blonde shook it off lightly as he leaned on his extended baton.

There was a moment of silence between the two after that, but it was broken by the sound of thunder.

'You really should go find a place to live.' Chat suggested, looking up at the dark clouds with slight concern.

Marinette curled herself into a ball and sighed once more. 'It's not cheap. Difficult for me to achieve without doing anything illegal, and I'd personality not want that. I should be able to find a job soon, at least I hope so.'

Chat watched the brunette stare at the ground before turning away with another question in mind. 'If you don't mind me asking, what happened to you?'

'Abandoned.' The teenage girl replied without needing to think twice.

'I'm so sorry! I didn't mea-' The blonde hero immediately responded, only to be cut off.

'It's alright. I didn't like the man who adopted me anyways.' Marinette forced a weak smile. 'The thing I really grief is the lost of my birth parents.'

Chat Noir had stared at the brunette's pale face, pink lips and bluebell eyes for a while before he looked away with a small sad smile as well. 'I'm sorry about that too. I lost my mother, but I can't imagine what losing both is like.....'

'You should know "sorry" doesn't fix anything, but it's nice to have someone to relate to.' Marinette kept her eyes pealed on the ground, but her smile widened as she hugged her legs tighter.

The comfortable silence between the two teenagers was soon broken by the sound of thunder.

Marinette was the first to speak up. 'You should go back home, before your father gets worried and before you get sick too. You don't want to hang around too long or you'll be soaked.'

It took a moment for the feline hero to reply. He was debating on whether he should leave the poor homeless girl alone. 'Will you be alright?'

'I'll be fine. Getting wet in the rain isn't much of a problem.' The brunette replied, her eyes finally meeting his.

The blonde was so mesmerised in her pretty bluebell orbs he needed some time to respond to her. 'A.... alright. If you say so. See you around then.'

With that, the black cat got out his baton and hopped onto a building with the help of the silver weapon.

A moment after the blonde had left, it started pouring heavily.

Marinette hadn't really reacted when the sound of thunder ripped through the silence between the two a moment ago, but that was because it was too dark for Chat to be able to notice her flinch at the sound.

However, truth be told, she was afraid of storms and had really wanted the black cat to stay by her side.

She has always faced her fears on her own anyways, so it didn't really matter either way. But she'd like to have some friends company and comfort her sometimes.

Meanwhile, Chat's transformation immediately wore of as he flung himself through the window and landed on all fours, careful not to make any sound.

By then, it had also begun to rain cats and dogs outside.

The blonde flinched as a loud thunder made him jump. This made him wonder if Marinette was really going to be alright as she said.

'Adrien, why didn't you arrest her?' The voice of his kwami could be heard from his right.

The hero turned to face the tiny black cat who had a slice of Camembert in his paws.

'She seemed nice, in my opinion. Do you really think someone like her could be a criminal?' Adrien asked his kwami as he took a seat in his bed.

Plagg swallowed the slice of cheese all at once before warning him. 'Never judge a book by its cover, Adrien. Use Chloe as an example.'

'Oh, come on! You can be comparing her to....... her. There is no way she's as stuck up and selfish as her!' The blonde fought back.

'I really wish I have the same thoughts running through my mind, but you really need to be cautious, Adrien.' Plagg replied, crossing his arms. 'Don't make the same mistake twice.'

'I promise, Plagg. I won't.' Adrien answered firmly, making his statement clear.

The mini black cat let his arms fall back to his sides and let out a relieved sigh. 'Now, I've given you some great advice, I think I deserve a wheel of cheese.'

Adrien groaned in response at the irritating kwami. 'Plagg.'

'What? You live in a mansion, Adrien. You can't just tell me you don't have wheels of cheese laying around somewhere.' The kwami responded, his arms crossed once again.

However, the blonde ignored the black cat's statement and spoke to himself instead. 'I didn't even get her name.........'

If you guys were looking forward to the sequel to The Flirting Challenge, sorry to say that life's rough and I'm in no mood to write anything positive and cheerful and happy. Even if I did attempt to write a chapter, it'd be crappy and you'd probably be able to sense negativity in it. Don't think it would please you, so yeah. I'm not doing any better, just... worse, but I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I've been trying to improve on my writing lately.
