One week later, the wedding day
The Chauhan mansion was decorated with flowers, lights and various decoration .The entire house was packed with people; Kabir’s relatives and cousins were dancing, enjoying the happy occasion. Music blasted loudly from the speakers exceed the usual decibel limit, The Chauhan family was ready to depart with the exception of groom who was still doubting his decision upon marring an illiterate, substandard girl.
Mrs. Neha Singh Chauhan was on cloud nine with the knowledge of bringing his son’s bride in the house, after all she was going to be a mother in law with in few hours. She was dancing among the ladies, her face glowing with happiness, as her son fulfilled her only demand which was of courses Getting married to Henna, that day after that bitter outburst of Kabir, Mrs Neha Singh Chauhan was so hurt that she called the priest and canceled the wedding but Kabir knew his mother better. He knew he’d hurt her and the only thing that could make his mother happy was his obligation on this wedding demand ,so for the sake of his mother. He,himself called the priest and fixed the wedding date again. From that day he just decided to keep his mouth shut and follow whatever had been ordered by his mother.
The day was finally there where he was going to bring Henna home as his wife . Mr Vikram Singh Chauhan was busy attending to the guests and his business colleagues .He was very happy for his son too. Deceiving his usual cold, ruthless demeanor, that day he was laughing and enjoying his heart out. His prince was going to get married soon , the mere thought was filling a ton of jovial feelings in his heart and this time he did nothing to hide his happiness.
The mansion shook with joy and happiness as happy chatters and joyous filled voices could be heard from the corridors, rooms, from the every corner of the mansion , itself but only one person among all of them present there was not happy at all .He had a grumpy face since awakening this morning. This happiness was a mockery to him. All the cheerfulness, all the happiness was distanced from him. He was too busy mourning in his room ,the whole house was thumping with joy but Kabir was freaking out sitting in his room , occasionally pulling his dark hairs in pure anxiety, and his cousin and best friend were consoling him. He was throwing tantrums like a kid and his cousin and friend who were there supporting him were sadly bearing his mood swings. He was nervous. Very, very nervous.
Kabir ’s POV
Finally Its time for my life time imprisonment, I used to laugh at my cousin’s and friends condition when they sweat profusely, had their wedding glitter but today when I myself at the vary stage of getting married, I could clearly feel what they might have felt on their own wedding and now i have my honest sympathy for them. The day had finally come for me, my wedding And here I was nervous as hell , sweating the s**t out. Although my mom had trapped me in this marriage with her emotional blackmail but still it was my marriage .I too was a man after all; I had my own dreams of my marriage. Forced or not, it was my marriage. Like a mantra, that statement kept on repeating itself in my head. Making me more nervous than I was, already.
I wouldn’t be single anymore. She would share everything with me. She will be Mrs Kabir Singh Chauhan. Thousands of thoughts were running wild in my head, scaring me,Add to that these good for nothing two idiot who had been irritating me to core was teasing me, every now and than.
“Come on Kabir! You didn’t apply the perfume! Do you want to stink like a pig at your own wedding? I can bet Henna would fall unconscious with that stinking odor of you,Remember boy you need to steal her heart in very first meeting of yours. ” Said my cousin and childhood friend Laksh as he mimicked my father’s voice in the last statement And Viraj burst into laughter.“Forget about perfume, man! Look at him! He looks like a frightened chihuahua. I couldn’t believe it dude, our nerdy playboy is getting his life time imprisonment so soon. ” Viraj said and they both shared a fist bump before bursting into laughter again. I glared at them both as I got ready.
