She sat starry eyed staring at the sky dreaming for a world far beyond hers. With a long sigh she said "What lies beyond the stars is a world never to be seen", she arose from her seat by a window and walked to her bed. Messing up the beautifully placed plush pillows and blankets, she flops on the bed letting out yet again another sigh. "Elena you're going to be late for bible study come on and get down here", her mother called from the living room. "Yes mother", the young female calls back. After long debation the teen by the name Elena rose from her bed and got dressed. Pulling her long red hair into a pony tail and throwing on simple jeans and a sweatshirt. She sighs and stares at herself in her mirror, "why would anyone want me around...... I'm ugly and well worthless" she say while pulling at her flawless skin on her face and looking at herself from a side view to see how 'fat' she was. She pulls the hood to her sweatshirt over her head and she grabs
her bible and starts to walk down stairs.
Her mother sighs and smiles "good now go hop in the car so we can leave", Elena sighs and does as told. She sits in the passenger seat and stays quite deep in thought, "mom.........how do you know he's there.....like you can't see him". Her mother sighs in response "you will just know, you won't see him...but you'll feel", her mother replies trying to comfort her. "But you said before that he will always answer your prayers, what if he doesn't and you know he doesn't". The car pulls into a parking lot of an old stone church. Elena's mom sighs and looks at her "listen Elena he won't always answer the way you want him too, okay". Elena nods and looks down, "okay", "now let's head inside for bible study", her mom says and smiles. The both get out of the car and walk to the old brick building.
As Elena is walking to the church she sees a figure, a figure with wings and a human like body and just like that it vanishes. "Hey mom did you see that", Elena says "see what honey" her mom turns to face her. "Never mind", Elena says and keeps walking. They both walk into the beautifully decorated church. Elena and her mother join the group of lady seated around a fire place. "Welcome ladies" Jordan the leader of the group stood to greet the two. "A hello right back to you Jordan", Elena's mom says. Her and her mother have a seat. As the group continues to have their discussion about the selected bible verse for the week. Elena sighed to herself and let her mind wonder as she didn't wish to be here or to listen. She spots a figure standing in the corner of the room near the glass doors. The same figure she saw from outside, she jumps from her seat and runs after it but the second she reaches the figure....it vanishes into midair. "Where did it go", she says and looks around " Elena Lee Rondles" her mother snapped at her out of anger. Next thing you know Elena was being dragged into a hall buy by her ear while her mother mumbling stuff under her breath. "You know very well that this is bible study and you just don't jump from your seat to run after something, this is God's word we're learning." Her mother sighs as she yells at Elena. "Look mom I'm sorry it's just the figure it was outside and just here too.... I wanted to know what I was", she told her mother trying to explain.
Elizabeth, Elena's mother sighs and holds her temples. "Elena I know things have been going on at school and that other people are being rude to you" her mother say. "But I'm trying to help you I bring you here so God will help you" "God what has God ever done to help me" Elena snaps at her mom and tears form in her eyes. "He never answers when I ask him something, he's never there when I need help", Elena starts to cry and her mom stands there shocked. "Elena....I'm sorry I didn't realize how bad the situation was at school." She hugs her crying daughter to try and comfort her. "I won't make you come anymore, this will be a choice of yours. Whether you want to come or not" Elizabeth said hugging her child. Elena shakes and all the word kids have been calling her at school run through her head like a record just playing over and over. "Mom I want to take a break I'll come back when I feel better" Elena say and her mother nods.
They start to walk to the car after saying their goodbyes to the group. Elizabeth looked at her daughter with a worried face as they got in the car. Once they arrived home Elena ran from the car to her room and laid in her bed. "Whats going on with me" she says with a sigh. She drifts off into sleep, hoping that her dreams will bring her peace. But little did she know what was in store. A figure appears in her room not to far from her bed. With blood red eyes and a devilish smirk the figure steps forward into the moonlight through the window. "Little Elena poor little Elena...no one is here to protect you now" the figure says.
As the figure stand in the light, features of its face can be seen. Long black flowing hair, striking eyes, teeth like a monster, and large black wings. "We will met again soon my fallen angel" the creature pets Elena's head then vanishes. As the night goes on Elena has a restless night constantly waking up due to nightmares. She wakes up hold back a scream and holds her chest as a vivid image of her pinned to a cross is still in her mind. "Is this God's punishment for not going to bible study." Elena eventually falls back to sleep and is granted with some peaceful sweet dreams. BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP... her alarm clock announces and screams at her to get out of bed. "Okay okay I get it now shut up", she says and turns the alarm clock off. She sighs and lays there for a little, then starts to get ready for school. She slowly pulls on clothes for the school day. "Lazy day it is", she says and looks at her sweatpants and oversized t shirt. She pulls her long red hair into a ponytail and looks in the mirror at herself staring as if looking into her soul. "What is wrong with me.....", she lets out a sigh and grabs her bag and heads for the dreaded bus.
After the bus ride of screaming and cursing teenagers she walks into school. To her locker where she grabs her books and sighs as she closes it a girl with long blond hair and striking eyes and a beautiful body walks to Elena. "Hello Elena", the beautiful girl says flinging her hair over her shoulder. "I'm sorry do I know you", Elena says looking at the girl confused. "My apologize fallen one", the girl bows and Elena's eyes widen and she shakes. "My name is Veronica.. We have met before?" she stands straight and looks at Elena. "No we haven't I have no clue who you are.....um bye" Elena says as she runs off and down the hallway. "But fallen one come back I have to keep you safe.....safe from the one from under," Veronica says and runs after Elena.
