Chapter 8- date

Kate's POV

After Derek had asked me on a date, I couldn't be more than happy. I was over the moon that I will finally be going on a date, although I don't know where we are going I couldn't help but look forward to it. This would be my first ever date with any boy, as I have always keep myself to myself around boys.

Even though apart of myself was kinda mad at my brother, I felt that deep down he was hiding something from me. Whenever I mentioned Derek's name he would tense up, it was like he had some big secret going on and didn't want me finding out. I had even asked Leanne what was going with my brother, yet all I got from her was "I don't know".

Pushing my thoughts aside I decided to go buy myself something new to wear for my date with Derek, I wanted something that looked casual and not to over the top. I thought of wearing a black tank top with a white pencil skirt, to then changing my mind buying myself a pair of black trousers and white tank top, with some black high heels.

I had also gone to the salon and had my hair done, I was so useless when it come to my hair. I never really bothered with unless I was straightening it, or just putting it into a pony. I asked the stylist to do my hair in a up style, let's just say she did a great job with my hair. It look like one of those hair styles you would have for a bridesmaid, or even a model I loved it. After having my hair and nails done I made sure to ask the makeup artist to do a natural look for me, over all I think I looked just great.

I had just finished getting ready when the door bell rang, I heard Lee answer the door and let Derek in saying I wouldn't be long. As I walk down the stairs they both turn to look my way, the looks on they faces was priceless. Derek and Lee mouths dropped out as they both stare at myself, I clear my throats wanting one of them to say something.

"You look absolutely breathtaking" Derek says been the first to speak.

"Thank you" I say blushing.

"Where is my sister and what have you done with her" Lee says with a smile on his face, I shake my head at my brother bother making my way towards the door with Derek.

Outside Derek opens his car door for me to slid into the front seat, once I'm seated he walks round to the drivers side getting in and starting the car.

"So where we going" I ask breaking the silence between us.

"That would be telling" he says smiling to himself as he looks at the road while he drives.

I couldn't help smile as he drives towards our unknown destiny, although I didn't care as I was with him and him alone. As I look at Derek properly, I notice just how hot Derek actually is. I couldn't help but stare at him, it was like there was this pull between us, like he was the only guy I want to spend my life with.

"We're here" Derek says pulling into a parking lot, as I look around to see if I could see where we was.

Derek opens my door and lets me out before putting a blindfold over my eyes, he locks the car up and holds my hand slowly guiding me with his hands. Not once did he say a word as we walk, it felt like we was walking for ages until we come to a stop. 

Once we came to a stop Derek removed the blindfold from my eyes, I have to say what was in front of me was breathtaking. We was at the beach yet what made it more beautiful was the fact that Derek had made a love heart shape with candles, in the middle was a blanket with a basket and two glasses.

"Do you like it" he asks not sure of himself.

"I don't like it, I love it thank you" I say giving him a hug to say thank you, he grabs my hand and walks towards the blanket before sitting down.

We have been here for over a hour and had just finished eating the food in the basket, when Derek lays down to star at the night sky.

"Can I ask you something" he says without taking his eyes from the night sky.

"Sure ask away" I say going to lay on my side to look at him.

"Do you believe in the supernatural" ok what sort of question is that." I mean I know it's odd and all to ask but I just wanna know"

"I guess you could say I do yet I have never seen any with my own eyes, I used to wish I was a fairy when I was younger,I wanted so badly to fly." I say looking away from him to look at the night sky.

"Maybe one day you could become something else, although I don't think it will be a fairy." He says looking serious as if there was a meaning to his words.

"Maybe, my mother always said that one day I will become important. Yet I never understand what the mean by it, it's like my whole family is hiding a secret from me. Like I'm missing out a piece of important information outta of my life, I just wish I knew what it was sometimes" I say looking away as I didn't want Derek to see the sadness in my eyes, as for years I always felt like a part of me was missing.

I feel Derek's arms go around me as he pulls me to him, making me instantly feel better about myself.

"You are not alone no more Kate, I want to be there for you from now on. I know we have just got to know each other and this is our first date, but I want you to know that I really do like you and want to be with you. I think you are the most beautiful, breathtaking woman I have ever seen, you make me feel things I never have before." He says softly into my ears as I feel his warmth around me, although I couldn't help but smile at his words.

"Be mine Kate" he says as he kisses me on the cheek, I lean into him some more if that's possible, loving those words come out of his mouth.

I nod my head lost for words to say, I feel him smile into my hair before turning me round, he places his lips on my mine kissing me with some much passion, to which I return.

As the night comes to an end I couldn't be more than happy, yet sad at the same time. I was now Derek's girlfriend and couldn't wait to see where things go between us. Although I didn't want the night to end, Derek took me home before leaving to go home himself but not before giving me a kiss goodnight.
