While they got ready to leave the kids were thinking about how long the drive was. The drive was 3 hours! They asked if they could bring any toys the keep them busy. Mom said yes and then the got their toys and left. In the car, the kids played, talked, and each took a nap.
They only took a nap for 2 hours so the talked for 1 hour and played for the other.
When they pulled up to the pet adoption center they all quickly ran inside to pick a puppy. When they got to the door there was a big sign that said "CLOSED" they were all very mad and sad at the same time. They drove for 3 hours for nothing. They got really excited for nothing. They all drove back home and went to their rooms.
