I sat on the bus with everyone else, staring out the window as we headed to our last stop of career fair day. All the jobs we had seen were boring, and would take a few years to land. I needed a job right now, but i'm sure this tour didn't take that into account. The bus had gone into the fancier part of town, meaning that this job probably involved office work. Office work seems like the most boring job ever. I would never want to do anything like that.

Surprisingly enough, the bus turned away from the tall buildings. It seemed we would be going to learn about hospital jobs instead. Doctoring and nursing wasn't a bad choice, but I couldn't stand the blood. It wouldn't be suited for me. The bus stopped abruptly and our teacher, Ms. Anderson stood up. She was in her late twenties, and had just started teaching a year or so ago.

"Alright. The final stop is the hospital, as you may have noticed. We will be learning about a few different jobs here, but then we'll return to school and you will be sent home." The bus shook as everyone began standing up and trying to push themselves into the isles before others. The air was sauna hot, considering it was August and there was no air conditioner on the bus.

Even though I was close to the last one off the bus, I somehow ended up in the front of the group when we entered the building. My shoes squeaked on the floor, they had just been bought a few weeks ago and hadn't rubbed the bottoms off yet. I scanned the surroundings as murmured around the lobby, waiting to see what would happen. It wasn't long before we heard the swing of a door opening and turned to see someone, who I assumed was a doctor here, walking towards us. Upon second glance he was more likely an intern. He didn't seem older than twenty five, but I guess some people could just age well. He was handsome, there was no denying that. His face was very detailed and defined, with his dark hair styled to show it off. It was pushed back except for a strand or two out of place.

"Ah, you're the class that was visiting us today! Luckily I had a mostly free schedule so i'll be showing you the ropes!"  He looked at every one of my classmates, like he was studying them. It could always be my imagination, but I swore he lingered on me for a few moments.  "I you could, follow me. We wouldn't want to cause the lobby any trouble."  I noticed that Ms.Anderson was clinging onto his every word and following him at an overly face pace. She wasn't married, and I guess she noticed how handsome he was as well.

The man led us into a room with a few couches and chairs. It had a TV in the corner with the news on. He cleared his throat and spoke up again.

"Before we talk about the possible jobs here, let's get to know each other a little better. My name is Dr.Urie, but you can call me Brendon if you'd like." Our teacher smiled at hearing his name and shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Brendon." She rolled his name off her tongue slowly. "My name is Ms.Anderson, but you can call me Maddie."

"Alright. Good to meet you. Does anyone have any questions about me?" Either no one did or everyone was too intimidated to ask because our group was silent. "Well. I'm originally from Las Vegas, i'm a doctor here at the hospital, and i'm twenty three." He pushed his glasses up a little when he spoke. After a minute someone raised their hand. It was a guy in my grade named Josh. He asked his question before anyone acknowledged him.

"How are you a doctor if you're that young? You have to be at least twenty eight." He said precisely. Josh was a little bit of a stuck up know it all.

"Oh." Dr.Urie let out a small chuckle. "Actually I guess i'm a bit of a prodigy. I graduated early and some stuff like that." Josh looked baffled at the fact that he was wrong and I had to stifle a laugh. Unfortunately I didn't do it well enough, because Dr.Urie turned his attention towards me. He narrowed his eyes a bit with a small smirk. "What's so funny, uh."

"Hera." I pointed to my name tag, we were all wearing them. I could tell the whole class was staring.

"That's a nice name. Hera. What where you laughing at?" My face heated up and I mumbled my answer.

"Nothing, doctor."

"No need for that, just call me Brendon." Surprising me, he patted my shoulder and turned away. "Shall we start the tour officially?" A few kids nodded and we began to walk though the hospital. I slowed down until I was hidden amongst the crowd, I had had enough attention already. Brendon led us through the building, explaining what the qualifications where for each of the different types of jobs. Ms.Anderson was very obviously flirting with him the whole time, and i'm pretty sure she slipped her number into the pocket of his uniform.

My phone buzzed against my leg, it was a text from my mom. She has a doctor's appointment in an hour so it seemed I would be coming right back here. Oh well, I could always listen to music.
After a call to the teacher from my mother, it seemed she was taking matters into her own hands, it was arranged for me to just stay here after the tour ended.

I sat down back in the waiting room as everyone else returned to the bus, still not fully recovered from the awkward encounter earlier with Brendon. I was practically praying that whatever doctor my mom had an appointment with wasn't him.

"Please don't be him. Please don't be him." I softly repeated the phrase to myself.

"Please don't be who, sweetie?" The familiar voice of my mom caused me to look up. She patted my dusty blonde hair and went to sign in.

"Oh, nothing mom. Don't worry." She giggled at me.

"Okay Hera. Maybe you're the one that needs to see the doctor." She added jokingly.

I had all but forgotten about him as I idly chitchatted with my mom. She asked about school and how my day was, and I got distracted. That was until I heard a voice call for Lorraine Sharp. It was familiar but I didn't place it until I turned to see Brendon holding a clipboard in one hand, with his other holding a door open for us.
