Ah... I can't write for Cuba... Sorry... On the wiki, Cuba's birthday is May 20th... It's May 31 that shouldn't matter.

"Ice cream solves everything!"
~~
May 30th.
That day was hotter than ever, at least in Cuba. Màximo, who was a child at the time, was strolling down the streets of Havana, craving the cold treat known as ice cream. His Canadian friend had to decline on going with him, his brother, Alfred, had gotten into trouble again. He was alone for now, his parents had to work.
The delightful shops hid the people on the streets and negative feelings in the air. Màx tried to ignore the dark alleyways as he spotted a small ice cream shop. As he rushed toward the store, the Cuban didn't notice the girl in his way.
"OOF!" He yelled as they bumped into each other.
The small girl looked up at him, her face round and innocent, yet her (e/c) eyes pricked with tears. "I'm really sorry. Hey, as an apology, how about getting you ice cream!" As the boy came up with his idea, his dark amber eyes lit up, "Ice cream solves everything!" That was Màx's solution to everything, treat them to ice cream.
The girl's tears began to fade, but she still frowned, "My mommy told me not to talk to strangers."
The Cuban boy remained smiling, "Then how would you live, knowing that logic? After all, wasn't your mom just a stranger once?"
The girl thought it over before holding her hand out to shake, "I'm (Y/n) (L/n). I'll accept your offer."
"Màximo, but you can call me Màx." He took one of his big, tan hands and shook it, heading over to the shop at full sprint.
"Last one there is a rotten egg!" He called, sticking out his tongue playfully.
"Hey! No fair! You got a head start!" She called back, running quickly on her short legs.
Little did they know, a tradition was started that day.
<Time Skip, like, 5 Years>
May 30th once more. Both you and Màx had aged since you were kids, but you still were friends. You kept up the tradition of getting ice cream on the day you met, getting the same flavors every time.
"It's cool how we kept this up for 5 years now!" Màx said suddenly as you were approaching the shop. To be honest, Màx was really hot to you, dark brown hair, smooth tan skin, his beautiful eyes, his good natured and happy personality, all of it attracted you. But the fear of breaking the tradition you kept up for years made you keep your feelings silent.
"It's almost like nothing can separate us!" You replied.
After ordering and sitting down, you devoured the cool dessert quickly, as it was hot yet again. Almost like the day you met.
"Hey (Y/n)?" Màx said suddenly.
"Yea?"
"You know how you said that nothing would separate us?"
"Go on..." You replied slowly. What would he say? Where did his cheerfulness go? Anxiety and fear built up inside you.
"Even if you don't feel the same, it's ok."
"Feel the same about what?" You thought that it could be about love. It would be about love. Right? Màx liked to act serious, but then it turned out to be a stupid question.
Like that one time he asked your opinion on something. You thought it was so important, but it turned out to be your point of view on ice cream.
"About me. I-I.... Te amo (Y/n)."
Spanish didn't come naturally to you, but after all these years of living in Cuba, you knew exactly what te amo meant.
"I love you too Màx!" You shouted, hugging him. He tilted your head up with his hand and kissed you softly. You've been dreaming about this for a while now, but it felt so different than in your small daydreams. It was magical, wonderful, amazing. Even those words held no description of what you were experiencing. The kiss ended much too soon, but you were looking forward to more kisses in the future.
Maybe even new traditions would be set, much like the one you came up with 5 long years ago.
