I remembered how I held you, through the thicket of the cold winter blizzard. Whispering sweet nothings that were almost as warm as the bonfire that we lit. Laughing at the glistening snowflakes once it touched our flustered cheeks.
I remembered how we ran together, holding hands as the crisp autumn breeze flew through us. Laying down on the dried leaves that would blow through our faces. Creating silly faces on the window-sill, our Halloween make-up smudging our already smudged faces.
I remembered how we cried, sitting through the spring-side flowers till dawn. Blowing out dandelions and making false wishes in the warm breeze. Loving the way you made me laugh when the river creek swallowed up your feet.
I remembered how we danced, the hot summer sun beating down on us. Playing with the sand castles by the ocean and biting down on our cold ice cream. Standing by your side when you held on to my hands tightly.
I remembered.
I remembered it well.
