From the first day we met, till the last day we parted, I'll always remember you.

By your petite body on the hospital bed, I stood by your side, holding on to your pale hand. Checking on the heart monitor as it traced your tranquil heart beat. Thumbing through the pages of your pink spring notebook as you slept. Taking note of each bucket list that you wanted, so I could make it come true.

From your hearty smiles and warm stares, I'll always remember you.

Coming up with hundreds upon thousands of dad-jokes so that you could continue to smile with me-laughing whenever I did. Placing a red balloon by your side so that you won't be lonely when I go to school.

From the beating heart that shook me, I'll always remember you.

I promised that I'll live up to your dream and complete every bucket list that you ever wanted. In hopes that, in those moments, you were right beside me. I promised I'll stay by your side forever, not even death do us part.

From the pounding rain that was beating down on the red umbrella we once shared, I'll always remember you.

Holding on to your pink spring notebook as my tears continued to stain the ground. Holding back a shattered sob and an angry wail. Wishing at the shooting stars that this wasn't real.

From the pitied looks of our classmates, I'll always remember you.

Coming back to school, with the thought of you not being here by my side anymore, created a wall-a wall of isolation. Reading page by page of your pink spring notebook and tearing up every time I see my name mentioned in them.

From the last page of your pink notebook, I'll always remember you.

Throwing away my bag in frustration, your pink notebook fell, along with a small pink folded up paper. With curiosity nipping through my emotions, I took the pink paper delicately and opened it. My tears opening up the entire dam once I read your letter.

Dear Jinnie,

It's me once more! Thought you wouldn't get tired of seeing my beautiful face now would ya. Hahahaha

Anyways, I just wanted you to know that I want you to still be my favorite Jinnie~ My Jinnie that would laugh and smile at the most idiotic things. Hahaha

My Jinnie that would crack up dad-jokes just to make me laugh. My Jinnie that would never stop playing the guitar, because he wanted to impress me hahaha. My Jinnie that would try to cook for me but instead would begrudgingly give the cooking duties to me. (improve your cooking skills while I'm gone, okay ;) just kidding, I love your cooking, even with the egg shells hahaha) My Jinnie that would tease me for loving pink, even though I was a boy (don't be afraid of loving pink, okay Jinnie? hahaha).

My Jinnie that would never stop taking care of everyone he knows and love.

So...this is my goodbye.

Don't be sad! I'll guide you from up above. I'll stay by your side, just like we promised.

I've made memories with you that I will treasure for all eternity. I hope you won't forget me :)

I love you~

With love,

Your Pink Princess Peach
