~Chapter 17~

~Gray's Pov~ 

It was raining thanks to one of Cana's cards as me, Mira, Laxus, Erza and Wendy went into the castle. We all had the two exceeds Happy and Carla above waiting for a signal. We had to get Lucy far away from E.N.D. We was at the back of the castle as Mira was in her Satan Soul forum punching a hole in the wall. Like planned the guards were rushing toward Gildarts and Cana. "They will need help sooner or later, from what we learnt Zeref has two people on the same magic level or higher than Gildarts" Laxus soon spoke.

"Think you can keep Cana safe?" I asked Laxus who smirked moving through a lightening bolt to help the two mages who were keeping them busy. "Lets find Lucy" Wendy ran ahead as me, Erza and Mira followed. Mira keeping her Satan Soul forum up as we walked into a girl with short blonde hair and brown eyes looking toward us. "Fairy Tail" she spoke as she made a giant gold sword show in her hands. Mira stepped forward in a fighting stance. "Go, find Lucy" Mira spoke as the unknown female had a smirk.

"Here for the pet of our Prince huh? Sorry to say but you lot are to late he already has turned the cute little pet" she spoke as that got me worried. I saw the same in Erza and Wendy as Mira had rage in her eyes. "She ain't some pet and Natsu is not your Prince he is OUR brother" Mira snapped rushing at the blonde as we moved past leaving Mira to battle the blonde alone. We kept moving as Wendy stopped sniffing the air getting me and Erza to do the same. "I can smell Lucy" Wendy whispered rushing around the corner as Erza and I followed.

We kept following Wendy until we was at a dead end confused as Wendy put her hand on the wall. "She's behind here" Wendy whispered as I asked her to step away. Wendy listened as my dark tattoo grew on my right arm as I punched the wall with my right arm using the cold in the air to destroy a shield and blow down a door that showed out of no where. We all saw Lucy laying in a bed fast asleep. I went forward but another shield was in place. This one much stronger than the one I destroyed before. 

"I'm saving her, no matter what" I muttered hitting the shield to be bounced back my own punch being thrown back at me as I went backward onto the ground badly hurt. "Well, well looks like I was right" we all heard Natsu's voice as I got up turning around to see E.N.D smirking toward us. His voice so much like Natsu's. I hated that we found out the truth this way. I hated that my best friend, was the thing I had to kill. "Dragon Slayer smell was worth keeping" he soon spoke leaning on the wall looking toward the three of us.

Erza had a serious look on her as she was look right toward E.N.D. "Natsu please fight this, you have to do this not for us but for Lucy" Erza spoke as unlike before there was no onyx. The demon only laughed smirking even more. "Sorry but you are too late, the weakling you all knew is gone for good" E.N.D spoke as Erza changed her armor to her Fire Empress one holding two matching fire swords in her hands. "Then I will beat him out of you, I know my brother wouldn't lose knowing someone he cares for is in danger" Erza spoke as E.N.D stopped leaning on the wall.

"Only one in danger here is you Erza Scarlet" E.N.D spoke his first bursting into flames. His flames were a dark red colour getting even darker by the second. "Gray, Wendy find a way to get to Lucy and then get her somewhere safe" Erza ordered rushing at E.N.D as Wendy and I shouted wait but she was already in battle with him as she was able to hit him hard pushing him out the wall of the castle outside were a sand storm was blowing hard mix with hard heavy rains. "How do we destroy a shield that can't be hit?" Wendy soon asked.

My hands turned into a fist as I had a cold blue mist come off me. "We try freezing it" I answered as I had ice slowly build up around the shield as Wendy was soon hugging herself shaking slightly. "It might get even colder get behind me" I spoke as she nodded moving behind me pretty fast as I kept the cold aimed in front of me the ice building layers around the shield as they had to be thick for me to break it and not get the bounce back. I heard running coming behind as it was easy to hear whoever it was, they was heading this way.

"I can keep them busy" Wendy spoke as I turned my head slightly to see her in a fighting stance looking down the hallway as I smiled. She had grown up so much since we first met. She wasn't the clumsy little girl from before. After these years she had grown up to be a strong fighter of Fairy Tail. I was glad we met Wendy. I was even more happy when she joined our team. "Lucy hang in there" I whispered looking toward her as she became an amazing little sister to me. After losing my father twice, I couldn't lose anyone else.

I soon was able to break the shield with the ice as went to move until Erza came through the wall hitting me and pushed me into the other wall. "Nice catch Gray" Erza spoke weakly as I saw her armor was mostly destroyed, she had burns, cuts gashes and bruises all over her. She was badly bleeding also. "Wendy" I called as she rushed over helping Erza as she was on the ground on me. I moved her to lay on the floor as I got up to see E.N.D moving toward us. he had small cuts and bruises. 

I then noticed his close coat was now open a deep gash on his chest. "You are too powerful to leave alive Scarlet, I was planning on letting you all live for Lucee's sake but knowing someone who fights us is that powerful is not allowed" E.N.D spoke his eyes glowing as I got made an ice spear in my hand as I sent ice lances at the monster in front of us. E.N.D clicked his fingers making them melt before they could hit him as he sent a spiral of flames toward the three of us hitting us all. Wendy and I getting badly burnt defending hurt Erza as we was sent outside through the wall.

The sand storm from before was gone but the harsh rain was still there. Wendy and Erza were both on the ground hurt watching E.N.D as he walked toward us. I sat up blood dripping down the side of my face. "N-Natsu?" we all heard Lucy, scared as it ended up getting E.N.D to freeze up his eyes no longer glowing.
