The lights blare on set. We run out on stage with our uniforms and take our place on stage. The spotlight falls in the back near the drum set, and we wait for the starting rhythm.
3...2...1...
The lights flash a pattern of colors and the crowd goes wild. The bass kicks in and I grab the microphone stand, ready to sing.
Every person looking below us is represented with a green glowstick that moves to the beat in unison. There's at least a hundred of them, all in one tiny room. It almost takes me off the beat slightly, just looking at the people.
The guitar rift starts, and I begin to sing. The scream and shouts of the people in the audience keep me in time as the song begins to find its place in the room.
I don't even recognize that I'm singing, it's just so natural to me. But as the chorus for the first verse starts, I hear my echoing voice throughout the stage.
In my mind, I notice that the guitars are off a beat. But they quickly get in sync as the second verse blasts out of the amps.
The chorus stops as the pitch turns up slightly for the next bit, a slower paced verse with a solo. I prepare myself, and then sing quietly, until a guitar rift to the left of me signals the next chorus, a stronger piece to end the song.
The drums go wild as the keyboard blasts with energy. The guitars make their final round of cool finger tricks while I scream into the mic like my life depends on it. The song ends, and the crowd goes completely berserk with glow sticks jamming my view of the audience.
"Thank you, and have a good night!" I yell into the microphone. We dash off the stage as the lights turn back on and the audience shuffles their way out the doors.
...
"Dude, that was amazing," Len says as he plays with the props backstage. Teto groans. "Len, you know that you purposely put us off beat."
Len shrugs. "It didn't sound to shabby anyways," Len replies. Teto mumbles something through gritted teeth and walks away.
"Miku, can I talk to you?" I hear Rin across the room. She skips over and almost trips on her un-tied shoelaces. She holds up a piece of paper to my face.
"And that is..." "These are the tickets I promised you!" Rin gleams. "I not only managed to get front row seats, we also get to meet the performers after the show!"
"And..."
Rin grumbles, annoyed by my ignorance. "The tickets for Megurine Luka's new road tour!" Rin yells. I scream. Rin screams.
Len glares at us like we're idiots. Rin holds up a fourth ticket, she wants Len to go. We both scream again as Len gets up and walks out of the room, disgusted.
As Len leaves, the door cracks open as Dell walks in, his hair falling down tired.
Rin walks over to him. "What's wrong Dell?" her sarcastic voice snaps. Dell sighs and strains his thick hair through his fingers. "Cul won't leave the bathroom because she thinks you guys are leaving her out of the tour or something."
I look at Rin and she shrugs. "I dunno how Cul knows that, but just tell her we have an extra ticket." Dell gets up to go persuade Cul to unlock the bathroom doors.
"Oh, Miku, do you wanna join us for an after-performance snack?" Rin asks me as she packs up her belongings. I shrug. "Just gimme a moment," I say. Rin rolls her eyes. "Suit yourself," she says as she walks out the door.
I grab a chair and look out a window in the backstage storage shed. The streets bustle below me, each of them a road to somewhere else. I ponder the idea I could be a big musician one day like my idol, going on tours around the world, singing for a crowd of dying fans, having my own legion to meet and talk to every morning, it would be awesome.
And I think about my idol. Megurine Luka. She's in a world famous band called Sing, that has topped charts with their music and created a fanbase from around the world.
Luka herself however, is a wonderful woman. She talks to her fans, is not afraid to say what she believes, and I've heard has hair that smells like an airy winter dream. Or a dancing butterfly. And a calm river in the middle of summer.
However, I snap up once Rin yells back to me, "Hurry up!". I throw my thoughts away as I go and speak to my friends.
A/N: Wow, I suck at writing! Yeah I know this sucks, but I could not be more excited to see this book come together because the idea has been stuck in my head for almost two entire weeks. If anyone's wondering the reason the title is not 'Miku x Luka', I'm kinda tired of it. Besides, this book will have Miku x Luka, just a lot fluffier than my previous works. Anyways, I'm hoping this doesn't take too long to make because I want time to make my other book as well. Buh-Bye!~
