Chapter One

Chapter 1: Who I am

Ainsley's POV

      "1... 2... 3... GO!"   *Boomm!*

      "Happy Birthday Ainsley Johanna!" Mom and Dad said in unison.

     I groaned in annoyance dahil naistorbo nila iyong tulog ko.

      "Mom! Dad! Please, don't disturb me! I'm still sleeping" I said while my eyes are still closed.

      "Baby, wake up! Blow your candles na! " mom said while giggling.

      "Fine! " I said in defeat at bumangon na.

      And when I opened my eyes, their face are smiling from ear to ear. Smiling brightly. Their smiles are priceless. With that, my annoyed face turned into a calm face.

      Whenever I see their smiles,  I can't help but to be calm. I really love their smiles.

       "Princess, blow the candles now" Dad said smiling habang hawak into hung cake na may maraming candles. Uh? I think there are 20 candles? Tantiya ko.

      At agad naman akong lumapit dito then I shut my eyes to make a wish. After making a wish, I opened my eyes and blow the candles and smiled happily at them. It was a genuine one.

      I only smile and laugh when there is a reason. And they are the reason why I am smiling now. That's why they're really happy when they see me smile. My Dad always said that I am the most beautiful woman in the universe beside mom.

      "Thanks Mom, thanks Dad! I love you two very much!" I said kissed their cheeks.

      "I love you too princess" Dad said and kissed my forehead and hugged me so tight. As. So sweet.

     "I love you too baby" Mom said nang kumalas si Dad sa aming pagkayakap and also she kissed my forehead and hugged me tight.

      "Honey, let princess continue her sleep" Dad said and chuckled.

     I groaned when I remember that they disturbed my sleep!

     Mom also chuckled and said, "Oh. Happy birthday again baby. Now, you may, continue your sleep" and then they left me in my room.

     I looked at my clock.

    5:20 am

     Damn. It's too early. Mom and Dad are really weird when it comes to surprises.

     I roamed my eyes around my room. And swear, nagkalat yung mga confetti sa sahig. Oh God! They already knew that I'm a clean freak. So what's with confetti?!

      But never mind. I'll let them go just this time because they surprised me. I don't wanna ruin my mood today.

     Even they disturbed my sleep and even they surprised me in the middles of the dawn, it's okay. I may sound sarcastic, but hell no! I'm being serious here here. I just shook my head in disbelief.

      Before I forgot, I need to introduce myself first.

     I'm Ainsley Johanna Cortez. I'm already 20 years old today. And yes, it's my birthday that's why my Mom and Dad surprised me.

     My Mom is Ashley Dianna Cortez while my Dad is Einz John Cortez. And I'm their only daughter.

     But our family has a secret. And that is...

    My father is the leader or the king of the biggest Mafia around the world and that's Death Grafan or Death Grave Mafia. Grafan is from the origin of old English. And me? Obviously, I'm their only heiress for this Mafia.

     Dad said, bababa lamang siya sa puwesto right after na mag-graduate ako sa college. At two years nalang, mag-gra-graduate na ako. Right now, I'm taking up Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.

     I thought I'll take up related to business course since we have also big companies around the world. And it is a brand of all things like clothes, gadgets, appliances and etc. Of course, the brand name is Cortez.

      At the same time, ang D.G. Mafia ay gumagawa din ng mga armas. Instead of illegal drugs like what other Mafias are transacting, ours are weapons which is highly upgraded compared to others' weapons.

     My life means death. Bawat araw, oras, segundo ay puwede akong mamatay kung hindi ako marunong lumaban at kung hindi ako prino-protektahan ni Daddy. At balang araw, ako naman ang gagampan sa puwesto niya ngayon.

    I learned everything. How to use guns, how to fight and etc. Every vacation ako pumupunta overseas just to training. And that's why I'm really skilled. No one dares to defeat me, beat me or even touches my skin or the other parts of my body while fighting.

     Since 4 years old, I've been training. And up until now that's why you can say that I've been training all my life. But there's more, I'm also the Legendary Queen A in the gangster world. I discover gangster world when I'm still in my sixth grade. And right after that, I became Legendary, the unbeatable one.

      Years have passed. Papalapit at papalapit na ang nakatakdang araw para sa pagiging pinuno ko sa aming Mafia. At hinding-hindi ko ito matatakasan, dahil sa ayaw man at sa gusto ko wala na akong magagawa dahil I'm one of the Royalty Blood, I'm their only one heiress, hindi ko na pa kailanman matatakasan ang aking fate. Ako ang itinakda. But I don't care. I think it is much better to have this power because I will do everything just to protect those important people in my life.

      I maybe merciless, cold-hearted, very dangerous but when it comes to the people that I love, I will protect them. Even if it means taking my life, risking my life. I don't give a damn.

     Love. Yes, for me that was the most ridiculous word that I have ever heard in my life. But at the same time, it is the ridiculous reason why I'm still alive. Without my mother and father's love, I will no longer be alive.

     That is the reason why I'm still fighting. Why I want to protect them-- their genuine smiles on their face. Their laugh. Their happiness. I maybe not afraid to death, but I'm afraid what will happen to my love ones when I'm already dead. What will they feel. How will devastated they will be. How hurt they will be. Damn. Hindi ko kayang makita na ganun sila. Their tears are my weakness.

     I need to be strong, tough, cold-hearted, merciless, frigid and hide what I'm afraid of. I need to hide my emotions. I need to control them. So that,  people won't find or use my weaknesses to break me.

    And I am Ainsley Johanna Cortez. The one and only Legendary Queen A and the Mafia Heiress.
