Their trip around town started off pretty awkward between Calum and Michael, but after awhile the tension wore off. The black-haired boy didn't once feel left out, as Ashton made sure he was included, asking him questions occasionally and bringing him into the conversation.
Calum was a nice guy when he's not about to beat you up.
After the small tour was over, Ashton dropped Calum off at his house and drove back to their flat and the two hung out and got closer throughout the weekend.
Ashton and Michael got closer over the weekend and the black-haired boy grew closer to the older one. They talked all weekend and Ashton was going to start his first day.
It was now the morning of and this time, Michael was up first. The boy did his normal morning routine and wore a maroon sweater and loose skinny jeans. When he left his room, he saw Ashton in the kitchen eating a cereal bar.
"You ready?" Ashton asked, already ready. Michael just nodded, yawning quietly in a kitten-like fashion.
The two got into the car and Ashton drove them to school. It was still early, so not many people were there. That was the way Michael liked it. "Should we go to the office and pick up my schedule?" Then the curly-haired boy asked.
"Sure.." Then the black-haired boy whispered. "If you want me to come.."
Ashton picked up his schedule, Michael by his side, and the two hung out at the curly-haired boy's locker until they had to part ways and go to their own classes. They didn't have first period together, but they did have third and fourth period together.
Michael endured his first two classes and met up with Ashton halfway in the hallway on the way to their first class together.
"S-Sit next to m-me?" Michael asked the honey-blonde.
Ashton nodded and took the seat next to the shorter boy. The boy bit his lip nervously when seeing Luke and Calum walk in and sit down. "Hey, Cal." The hazel-eyed boy greeted.
"Hey, Ash. Michael." Calum greeted back.
"H-Hi.." Michael whispered, catching eye contact with Luke, who was glaring at him and looked down immediately.
Luke growled at Michael and kicked the back of his chair, making the boy wince. "Don't look at me, fag."
"Uh, excuse you." Ashton snapped at the blonde. "Don't talk to him like that."
The punk rolled his eyes and didn't reply. Calum gave him a side glance and gritted his teeth. "Cut it out, Luke."
Michael was surprised. This was a first, Calum never stood up for Michael. In fact, the Maori usually just made it worse for him. He kept his head down and felt Luke's eyes burning into his back.
The class consisted of Ashton and Calum passing notes to each other. And Michael taking notes to try to distract himself from Luke kicking his chair ever so often.
