"But you can't..." Jake stares at her. She has long brown hair, blue eyes and is so beautiful. I have never seen a girl with such smooth skin and soft hair. Tears flow from her eyes. "I have to." She says. She turns around. "NO MICHELLE DON'T!" He yells to her. Michelle stands on the edge of the cliff. "This is the only way to protect you." She says. He grabs her shoulder spinning her around. He kisses her.
She stops it and purposely falls backwards. Jake falls on his knees trying to catch her. "MICHELLE!" Everything turns black. Drip.... drip.... drip.... I open one eye. Due drips off a tree leaf onto my nose. I roll over onto my side to look at Jake. He sleeps silently. Finally, a guy who doesn't snore so much he might as well have a trumpet in this mouth.
Drip... drip... Water drips on his forehead. I hover my hand over his face so it doesn't drip on him. I stare at him for a second. Birds chirp, leaves sing, grass dances while the breeze whispers to the forest. Jakes opens his eyes and I quickly move my hand.
He rubs his eyes awake and sits up. "Food! I need it!" He says. I roll my eyes. "Go get some." I tell him. He stands himself and stretches out. "Nah I think it's good to make yourself a little hungry once in awhile. "Mk." I stand up. "Mmmmm, I just love mornings." I say. "Ya, well after about 19 years of mornings, you get used to it." Jakes sighs. "18 years of waking up in a room isn't the most satisfying thing, your lucky you got this life of yours." I tell him. He shoots me with an evil glare. "Trust me, if you were me you would have killed yourself by now!" Anger poors from his mouth.
I look into his eyes. Such negative energy fills them. "Have you ever been in love Jake?" I ask remembering the dream. His face no longer looks angry. "I've..." He hesitates. "No." He sighs with a small smile. But I can tell it wasn't a smile of any sort of happiness. It's the type of smile you make when you feel bad for someone or about something. The one you see when someone pitys you for some reason.
"Ok." He lifts his head towards the sky and raises both hands high, palms face up. He closes his eyes. It starts to snow. "GAH!" He stops and looks at his hands. "I forgot they were cut." He huffs. "Darn." I say wanting to do something. I look up at the sky. I know it's stupid but I decide to give it a go. I raise my hands like he did and I close my eyes.
"Jenna what are you doing?" Jake asks, confusion is the only thing that comes from his voice. I exhale slowly. It snows again. I lower my head to look at Jake. He stares at me blankly. "You ok?" He walks up to me. "Lift your hands." I lift my hands. He sets his palms on mine. Slowly he lifts his hands. Water orbs form between our palms.
His eyes widen. "Water... you're water? But... you're earth." Jake brings his hands away and the water splashes all over me. "HEY!" Cold stings my wet hands and legs. "Sorry, sorry." Jake trys to warm my hands with his. "We should get a fire going." He smiles. FINALLY! Jeez it's been a whole day since I seen him smile. We gather sticks and pile them up.
Jake trys to start up the fire with two sticks. No success after while and I try to keep myself warm with my breath. "Ugh, I give up." Jake drops the sticks. He walks over to me and holds me tightly obviously trying to warm me up. I feel warm but still wet. My hands tucked in between our chests. Arms tucked between our stomachs. His arms keep my back warm. Jake on the other hand has only a thin dark red shirt with no jacket or sweater. He shivers.
"Jake, you're cold." I point out. "Don't think I know that?" He replys. His chin is on my head. I'm surprised I let him be so close but in this place, he's the only one I sorta know. "What does spirit mean?" I ask silently. "It's all elements in one." He answers. "Spirit," the man says. Purple fog comes from my hand as he holds it up.
Lightly, I push Jake away. "You ok?" He asks confused. Without replying I set my hand on the sticks. They set flame. Jake gets closer. "Wha..?" Jake seems not to know what to say or do. "We tried to figure out my element, seems spirit is it." I smile while warming myself with the fire. "This means you can do anything." Jake smiles. "Not true, I can't control you. I can't change feelings, emotions or movement." I say.
I stand up. Jake stands up too and grabs the back of my head pulling me in for a kiss. I pull away. I'm in Seans room. Sean looks at me. "Was that not ok?" I shake my head saying no. "I broke up with you... then the next day I died in a car crash."
"You broke up with me?" Sean asks.
"You think your so clever don't you." He says with a smirk. He disappears. I look to my right. His face right in front of mine. "RUN GIRL, HE'S A KILLER!" He yells. I fall through the floor like water. I sink down to the bottom. Sean grabs my arm and pulls me up. "I'm not cared for anymore. So how should I care about myself." Suddenly I can't breath. Sean stands and holds a pistol to his head.
"They will stop when I die." I hear him say the words but his lips don't move. Tears leave Seans eyes. I try talking to tell him to stop but I can't speak. I need air. BANG!
