Staring at her phone she waited. Waited for a call. A text. She was dying to know, it had been weeks since her audition, the longer it took for the call to come the more she feared. Possibly if it's taken this long, they've given the spot to someone else, she thought to herself. She sighed heavily and got up from the couch. only to fling herself across when her phone rang suddenly. She held it in her hand for a few seconds, refusing to answer straight away, she thought it might make her look desperate.
Clearing her throat, she answer the phone. "Hello is this Evi Elliot" the voice on the other end said. IT had a tiredness laced into it, she made a yes noise, not really speaking yet. "This is Mark Kotter, the assent to Mr. Adams. HE wishes to apologize for getting back to you so late, but there were minor things he had to clear up before contacting you. The band position is still open and you are recommend for the spot, but before the band agrees, they wish to hear you in person. Please come in on Thursday around 1. Thank you and goodbye." With that he had hung up without waiting for her to reply. Upon hearing the news she squealed and jumped, like a small child does when entering a surprise party.
Quickly dialing the only person she considered close enough to tell she continued to bounce in excitement. "Fin! Fin! Fin! Fin" she chanted into the phone once he had answered.
"Evi, Evi, Evi, Evi" he canted back, less excitedly. "What's up chickie?"
"Guess you just called! No, don't guess, you suck at guessing. It was the assent to Mr Adams! He said that the band wants to hear me! And that I, me, Evi Elliot was recommend to them! AHHH" she rambled on, gibby.
"That's great doll" Fin said, smiling. HE had known she was going to get the job. "I told you you would."
"I'm so happy" Evi said, falling onto the couch. "This is huge for me. These guys were just about to become the real deal before their singer quit."
"Why was that again" Fin asked, looking at the time, knowing he couldn't talk forever like they used to. "What's the band called again? Sorry I keep forgetting."
"Black Medusa" she replied. "How awesome is that name? And they never released why he left. I guess it was to go solo, which is a rather dick move if you ask me. I mean the bad was about to blow up!"
"Yeah, yeah" Fin said, starting to get distracted as he hopped around his apartment room. Not listening to what she was saying anymore. "Listen Evi, you know I love you and all, but I have a date tonight so..."
"Ooooh, I get" Evi said, smiling in a teasing way. "Well go have fun. But not too much fun young man. Be a complete gentleman. And Make sure to use protection if you-"
"Ugh Evi" he almost shrieked. "Stop it!"
Laughing she hung up, shaking her head and looking around her very plain apartment. Soon she was to audition again in front of Black Medusa. Looking at the time, she pulled her arms through the leather jacket that was hanging on the couch arm. Taking her purse she checked that everything was there and grabbed her helmet from the small side table by the door. She walked out the door and locked it, twirling the keys to her motorcycle that she received for her birthday 2 years ago. She went to the apartment's parking complex and found her bike. It was a cherry red 2008 Honda Shadow Aero Cruiser that she loved, being her most prized possession.
Riding out of the parking complex, heading straight towards a local bar that she'd occasionally go to when her mood was up or really down. Right now she didn't know which it was. Being ecstatic from the offer she heard no more than 5 minutes ago, yet something in her mind made everything bittersweet. She should've been laughing madly, loving life. Her dream could be coming true, being in a band, a band that is steps away from being famous. Maybe it was that Finn had a date that had him all ansty, she wasn't jealous, but it made her think. Finn was known for being a heart-breaker, but when she had mentioned protection he sounded horrified. Was her best friend trying to have a serious relationship? Wasn't that supposed to be a good thing?
