"Another child, this time 8, has gone missing. Still no whereabouts of the other children."

Kalypso frowned to himself, wondering what on earth had happened to those who had gone missing within the last week. His friend, Aten, had warned him to stay away from the place where they had gone missing, albeit always being the adventurous type, he wanted to go and see what was happening, so naturally, he asked Aten to join him, and who was Aten to disagree?

----

Except, there was no way in hell his mum would let him go, what with what was happening. She was always weary of him, and now there was a logical reason; she'd milk that reason. Aten, for once, had agreed with Kalypso's mother, though he usually doesn't like the woman. He was always mocking her words. Albeit, Kalypso wasn't one to argue with his best friend over something really stupid, so he just let him be.

Maybe he'd ask his other friends. They always liked adventures.

"Kaly, you're not going." Aten called out to him before he asked the other friends, "I don't want anything happening to you."

Kalypso, apparently, had planned for Aten to ask this. He smiled to himself as he explained, "We're there, with you. We have our powers. What can go wrong? Remember, we're the only ones with these powers; we'll be fine."

[We'll be fine.]

Aten stored his words inside his head, so that if they ever get in trouble, he can remind him about it - albeit, if they were really in trouble, bringing something up like that probably wouldn't be their best idea, though they never had good ideas. They were just teens who didn't have a plan. The only thing they had was their friendship, but that was all they needed, really.

"I'm not too sure about that." Aten deadpans, yet Kalypso remained unfazed. He usually cared about what Aten said, but when he agreed with his mother, those words didn't matter. "We're better off saying here. What if something happens? Your mother will go mad."

"If she doesn't know," Kalypso started, and Aten's eyes narrowed naturally as he furrowed his eyebrows, "then we're fine."

"This is your mum we're talking about here, she's going to find out somehow. I swear she's psychic."

"She's not psychic," Aten muttered something along the lines of 'seems like it', hoping that Kalypso didn't hear, which he didn't. Thankfully. He didn't even seem like the type to get mad, but if you annoyed him enough- "So, you going or not?"

"Maybe, who're you asking?"

Kalypso gave him that look, and instantly Aten knew he was referring to; their group of friends. Their group of friends who were always there for them.

"Really?"

"Really."
