It hadn't taken them ages until they had found a victim. They had all come together again since Kalypso didn't want anyone to go missing.
They had found a body of someone, however, with the angle they were at; they couldn't tell whom it was. Kalypso, being the bravest one, took a step forward and momentarily froze in his steps. It couldn't possibly be him, right? He had to be wrong. It couldn't.
"Kalypso? Are you o--okay?" Eros stuttered out, and Kalypso could only respond with a shake of his head, not knowing how to respond to this newly found information. He had always thought that his friend had gone to another school, not this mess.
Kalypso stood still. Shocked. It couldn't have been him. He felt sick, as he was told he had simply moved away, not this. His old best friend, the person with whom he'd egg old people's houses, the person with whom he'd always go with for school projects, was now laying on the floor; almost looking unconscious, yet it was obvious that he was dead.
It was unclear, however, whether he was killed recently or a while ago. The blood didn't look fresh, nor dry. It was a creepy mix of both, which ran a chill down their spines, apart from Ara -- who didn't care. Of course, everyone was panicking after finding this -- apart from, you guessed it, Ara.
"Wow," She gasped, feigning her shock, whilst Eros rolled his eyes. "What a find!" She exclaimed, and everyone just sighed and rolled their eyes, expecting this kind of behaviour from Ara.
Jericho mentally facepalmed, he didn't need this. Not after finding someone dead on the floor. They didn't even know if the murderer was lurking around or not.
"J-Juno..." Kalypso whispered. He had never, ever, imagined things to end like this. That was why Juno hadn't responded to his texts for the past two months. He was dead. But was he killed two months ago?
"Kaly, I'm so sorry," Jericho muttered, not knowing how to react. The only person who could cheer Kalypso up was now the person who was the reason for his distraught. Jericho, who hadn't seen who it was, was still laughing at Ara's reaction before his eyes landed on Juno's dead body.
"God..." Jericho muttered. Sure, he had been standing there, yet his eyes hadn't cast onto the dead body until now. Juno? Dead? He was always the one to be careful. "H-H-H-" He kept stuttering, so he decided to just leave the sentence. It was better than to keep stuttering on his words. "I can't b-believe this..." He clenched his fists, determined to find the bastard who dreamed of doing this to an innocent person. Juno hadn't done anything to him.
"Juno-"
"IT'S NOT JUNO!" Kalypso suddenly yelled as he stood up. He clenched his teeth and dug his nails into his hand as he stared at the floor. He wasn't about to stare at them now. "It's not Juno unless it's p-proven. I'm not believing this." Jericho and Astrid both exchanged glances before Jericho rested his hand on Kalypso's shoulder.
"We're all hurting..." He trailed off. His throat was dry. His lips were dry. No words could be formed from his itching throat. He scratched his palms.
"Juno's fine." Kalypso stated, smiling slightly, "My Juno is fine, of course, he is, why wouldn't he be? He moved away... He-"
"Kaly..." Jericho cried, "Please! You're making it harder for all of us!"
Eros clenched his fist and looked away. He bit his lip in a nervous reaction and gulped. It was no secret that Juno and Kalypso were the closest. It hurt him to see one of his best friends this way.
"Kalypso..." he sighed, voice audibly shaking.
Astrid looked down at the dirt. Juno had powers... How had it come to this?
Juno had been an energy-based mage, using the energy in the air and from himself to charge his attacks. There was no way he would have been killed this easily.
Kalypso looked up. He swore to himself he would find whoever did this and kill them. He swore.
