I threw on my dress and brushed my blond hair back, newly dyed of course for the occasion. I've been waiting for this moment, to see my three other sisters and show how much of a leader I am. More of one than they ever will be.
Today, is just my day.
"Deonne, we have to go now. The ball is going to start in three hours. If we want to make it in time, I suggest we leave now." I hear a familiar voice tell me softly through the door. I look at myself one more time, before walking to the door and opening it up.
When I open the door, I see a blob of brown hair in my face and then the head looks up at me with big brown eyes.
"You look beautiful." Daehyun compliments, my cheeks turning red from the simple admiration.
"K-kamsahmnida, oppa. Lets get going, you look nice as well." I say, looking over his choice of a simple tuxedo.
He nods, and we walk down to the living room, where the other members stood in their matching tuxedos. They look up at me, and stare at me for a few seconds, then look away quickly when Daehyun notices their eyes.
"Who is driving us?" I ask, and Yongguk holds up a key ring with a few keys latched onto it. I nod to him, and he walks out to the garage where we kept our cars. Of course, we took our nicest car for the occasion, but nothing too expensive looking. Don't want to place targets on our backs...
I climb into the back seat first, moving over to the other side of the car so the other four members can fit in the seat. Yongguk opens the door to the driver's side, and JunHong sits next to him. Daehyun moves in next to me, along with Youngjae, Himchan, and Jongup following him.
Without a word, I strap my seat belt over my lap and put my chin on my hand. My eyes watch the slow background outside the window go by, and I get sucked into the quick flashes of our territory.
I'll admit, I'm a bit scared. I'm scared for my life, scared for the group. I'm not like how my sisters may think I am, or at least I've heard that they think I'm "Bossy" or "Power-hungry", but I'm just like them. We are family after all, I hope they understand that I am none of those things.
"....uld park?" A voice says, pulling me away from my thoughts. I sit up, looking over at JunHong who is now turned around in his seat. I clear my throat before answering.
"Erm, repeat the question?" I ask nervously, guilt filling me as I realize I wasn't listening to a single word that anyone may have been saying to me.
"Where do you think we should park?" JunHong repeats, and I shrug.
"No clue, I didn't think it would be that big of a problem.." I answer, and Yongguk grunts in annoyance before Junhong says another word.
"It isn't. I thought that maybe because you are the leader that you would have a certain preference." Yongguk growls, and I scoff.
"Don't talk down to me! It isn't my fault..." I snap back. Yongguk pulls into a parking spot and he kills the engine, obviously avoiding the current conversation. Everyone climbs out of the car, the tension remaining in the air. I run my hands across the skirt of my dress and start walking towards the large castle.
Everyone follows suit, walking towards the large white castle with many people standing about the entrance. There are emblems in certain spots, obviously the fighters or supporters of each group standing in their designated area of allegiance. They all stand outside of the legendary glass doors, where you cannot look inside or out of them.
Rumor says, only the true Queen or King may look through them and see themselves as a reflection. But, to me, it looks like a regular glass door with no reflection of anyone at all. I don't see myself or Daehyun, but that has to be only a rumor.
Right?
I walk to the emblem with a Matoki on it, obviously it's my group, and stand next to it. As my group files in next to me, Daehyun wrapping his arm around my waist, I scan over my competition.
I notice Ariel and Charlene have already arrived, Ariel wearing a pitch black dress that reaches down to the floor, almost. Charlene chose to wear red, such a cliche color for a ball, with her bob-like hair looking silky smooth like always.
Well, of course MiYoung is the only one absent as of now. She is usually the last one to show up, like old times. Of course, her group isn't the one on my mind right now. I could care less on whether or not we ever end up fighting, I know she will lose. MiYoung was never the.. Smartest one of the bunch, or the most physically sound person. She never won a fight against me or my other sisters, ever.
"Yah! I abduct anyone! Charlene, I honestly don't know what you are talking about." A voice screeches over top everyone else's voices. The people part, going to their designated spots and then watching as Charlene moves into Ariel's space with a threatening air about her.
"Look, I don't know anyone else in this war that is capable of capturing Jin except you! And if you don't admit to it right now, and hand him over, I will put all of my targets directly onto the backs of you and your stupid group!" Charlene threatens, pushing Ariel back by the shoulders.
Just then, another car pulls up. I can tell immediately, it's MiYoung. When she steps out, she has the biggest smile on her face as she strides towards her place along with her group following behind. She watches the present situation at hand, with the devilish grin still plastered on her face.
"It isn't my fault your lover has been taken from you just before the war started! I have nothing to do with it, I promise you!" Ariel reasons, but Charlene grips her hand into a fist angrily.
"Well, I don't fucking believe you! Be happy this is the Peace Ball, or else the war would've started five minutes ago." Charlene walks away and out of Ariel's territory. Ariel huffs, before walking further into her spot. She receives questions like "Are you alright?" and "Is it true?", she ignores them and just puts her head softly onto a blond headed boy's shoulder and speaks quietly to him.
I turn away, that was none of my business.
We wait for a while, I talk with the town's people of my territory and joke around with them. Until the giant glass doors open and the figure of two very familiar people walk out elegantly and with grace.
"It is nice to see you again, my children." A soft, yet hard voice of a woman calls out into the crowd.
