Nicholas's P.O.V

"You know Nicholas that it isn't nice to be so rude to others. Won't you introduce yourself to my son Mikhail sometime this year?" Cain implied rather impatiently in the next moment, his tone filled with an underlying hint of playfulness that seemed to allude to something more as he easily disregarded that warning Mikhail had just uttered to us.

"For the love of God, did you not just hear what he said!?" Damian exploded angrily in my place, swinging his fists in the air toward Cain as he lashed out at the ash blonde figurehead of the Saunders, "We're not here to play make believe friends you know and from what that guy just said my cousin is possibly somewhere in this house in trouble because of that son of yours!"

Admittedly, I was taken aback by the boldness of Damian's words, caught off-guard by his concern for Aidan despite the knowledge that they thought none too highly of each other. When Damian's gaze shot to me in the next moment though, I realized that his feelings were not just in line with his on, but for some reason with mine also because Aidan was my only friend.

This, coupled with the fact that a moment ago, Damian had been intent to be led around by my uncle and two of my cousins, made the sight of him currently backing me up all the more rare and unusual.

Mikhail, who had flinched at Damian's loudness, recoiled farther into his room, his clouded eyes roaming around aimlessly. Cain lowered his head and shook it with his hands on his hips, as if lamenting the reality of where our priorities lied. Rayne, who was still blocking the door, sighed dejectedly and with a single look from Cain, dislodged his leg from the entrance and backed away.

"Now I think it's time you told us exactly where you've been keeping Severin and Aidan. I am an Alloyd who has never once stepped foot in here before and even Nicholas probably doesn't know where that guy's room is so stop beating around the bush," Damian commanded coldly, staring down my family's patriarch with unwavering resolve.

"It's not that simple. A seal has been placed on Severin's bedroom to ensure that neither of them escaped and even then it's not one of those conventional places you can just walk into since it was owned by that guy after all," Rayne interrupted briskly, folding his arms and cocking his head to the side.

At this, Damian, turned to the violet haired teen and snapped back defiantly, "I don't care if we have to blow up a whole damn wall to get there. All Nicholas and I want to know is where the location of his room is. We'll figure out something after we know that.

"You guys are complete idiots you know that? It's not your everyday barrier magic that was used to seal that room up," Rayne further stated, staring down an irate Damian whose hair was nearly bristling by this point, "I should know since I'm currently the only living Saunders that can perform a sealing of this type."

Rayne shut his mouth as soon as he said this, slapping himself in the face for admitting that the seal had been his doing. Immediately, Damian rushed at him, swinging a well-placed fist in his direction, which Rayne just narrowly dodged by stepping out of its path and catching Damian's arm.

Before he could restrain the enraged boy, however, Damian doubled over and kneed him in the stomach, causing Rayne to crumple to the ground in a useless heap of limbs. Once over him, Damian began shouting all sorts of obscenities at him as he shook violently, fists still tightly clenched.

The young girl named Brenna, who had remained outside the room, saw this display and shrieked, entering the room just to rush into Cain's waiting arms, which scooped the little girl up and tried his best to bite back a laugh.

"I knew Alloyds were horrible people. That one over there is hurting Rayne!" Brenna cried out somewhat fearfully, the sound of her voice enough to make Damian cease his actions only to turn in her direction and begin defending himself.
