(A week later, Your POV)
Been about a week since I started staying with Asuka and the others. This council of this decided that since my goal is something they can agree with, that Kiriya and the others help me. Down side however, is that due to me being a Gray Knight’s ad the Shinobi for some reason holding a grudge, I am to be accompanied by someone twenty-four/seven.

But, if I am to be honest, I don’t mind as much now.

First off, my visions seemed to stop. I don’t know why, but I hope it doesn’t mean anything to bad. Maybe it wasn’t a vision but just a dumb nightmare. Second, Kiriya isn’t afraid of teaching me a few tricks of the Shinobi. This he can’t teach anything like their arts, but the basic tricks are pretty helpful.

Third, and maybe the one I am enjoying a bit too much, is the company. Finding a place to settle down, if only until I am ‘trusted’ to not go and kill anybody that isn’t a Yoma, has been…comforting in a way. I am opening up a bit more to the girls, but one I am feeling a closer connection to is Ikaruga.

Something about her reminds me of one of my masters. It might be her sense of duty, or maybe how strict she is sometimes, but I think I have grown closer to her then the others.

At the moment right now, I am currently in my room doing my morning routine. It’s a simple work out, push up, sit ups, stretches. I finish the last stretch and let out a breath as I grabbed cloths and a towel. One thing I quickly learned was this: Be up before the others. It made sure I wouldn’t, walk in, on anyone.

I walked out of my room and went to the bathroom. Giving a quick knock, I opened the door after no response and smiled at the empty bathroom. I closed the door and began running the shower.

(One quick shower later.)
After my shower, and getting dried off, I waited for the others downstairs. I heard someone coming down and already knew who it was. “Good morning (FN).” Ikaruga said as she walked by me I to the kitchen. I learned she is up before everyone else to make breakfast and stuff for them. It was almost like she was the mom of the group, tho wouldn’t fault her.

“Good morning.” I said.
“How did you sleep?” She asked.
“Fine. Thanks for asking.”
“Hay, since it’s Saturday. Asuka proposed we have a day out. Do you want to come?”
“Sure. Not like I have anywhere else to be.” I joked.
She looked at me a smiled. “You know, I am glad to see you accepting this in a way. Your stay with us.”
“Yeah. Figured I might as well accept it. Besides, since staying, I no longer have that dream.”
“What dream?”

Crap, that's right. They don’t know about the vision and stuff. “Right, forgot to mention. Wardens, since they drink demon blood, have these visions. They show us where the demons are, but sometimes they either come as a lesson from the past, or the telling of the future.” I explained.

“I see. And you had one of these?” She asked. I nodded. “Yes, since leaving the fort. It was always the same one, and I thought it was a vision of the future. But since staying with you girls, it has stopped. I don’t know why, but I don’t know whether to be happy about it or not.”

“And am I the only one who knows about this?” She asked.
“Yes. And, if you don’t mind: Can you keep it between us? I don’t want to freak the others out.” I said.
“Sure, I will keep it as a secret.” She said.
“Thanks. Here, let me help.” I said, grabbing the eggs and began mixing them.

“You know how to cook?” She asked. I nodded and ended up telling her a bit about one of my masters, and how she taught me how to cook instead of fighting. When we finished making breakfast, everyone came down and we ate. It felt nice eating with others. Again, it maybe because I was a loner for so long.

“Hay (FN). Can I ask you something?” Asuka said. I looked at her and nodded. “Well, what exactly is your mission? I mean, I know it’s to kill Yoma, but what was is exactly?”

I looked at Asuka, then the others and sighed. “To be honest, I didn’t really have a mission.” I said. Everyone looked at me confused. “You see, before I left the fort, my masters told me that I might be the only Gray Knight that is active. I took the chance and left. I just been wondering to be blunt. I side I had a mission to give me a reason to keep walking, but I didn’t know how much longer I could keep it up.”

When I finished, I felt the looks of sympathy on me. “Well, maybe we can give you a mission?” Asuka suggested. “Like what?” I asked.

“Well, I don’t think we can make you a Shinobi, but maybe we can make you into a sort of….Guardian?” Asuka said. I just looked at her.
“So……become like a guard dog of sorts?” I said. I somehow mission the point I think.
“Sound like Ryouna there but in a way. I mean, you said it yourself, you don’t have anywhere to go and don’t really have a mission.” She then said. “So, what do you think?”

I sat there for a second, thinking on what she said. She was right, even if the Shinobi council let me free, what would I really do? I can’t just keep lying to myself either, so guess I see no reason to say no. “Well, guess I can. Since I really don’t know what else to do with my life now.” I answered her.

Asuka and the others cheered at the idea of me staying. I laughed at their enthusiasm with the idea of me staying. I looked over to Ikaruga and noticed she was blushing a little and trying to hide it, all while being happy for me as well. I just smiled at her and went back to eating.

(Hour later)
I walked beside Ayame as I followed the others through town. They like Asuka planned, or semi-planned, we we’re heading out for a day of fun. But now to also welcome me into their little family. I just looked around, looking occasionally at something I didn’t understand. “Something tells me you didn’t have much technology growing up.” Ayame said.

“Is it the fish out of water look?” I asked, staring at a kids hand as something spun in it.
“Yeah. So, what did you do to entertain yourself while growing up?” She asked.
“I read. A lot. May not know how a many things work, but I know how many pressure points are in the human body.” I said.
“Sounds boring.”
“Not really. I mean, again, I did learn quit a few things reading. Even if most of the books were history tomes.”

We arrived at a open market and everyone sort of went off to do their own thing. I shrugged and knowing I had to be with one of them, I went with Ikaruga. I walked with her as she looked at a few stands and I looked through a few things. “These are weird names for bands.” I said, picking up a CD.

“Did you listen to music growing up?” Ikaruga asked.
“Yeah. I even learned how to play a guitar. But I think my taste in music maybe a bit, old I guess.” I said.
“How so?”
“I like the more, orchestral. You know, pianos, flutes, and the like.”
“it doesn’t seem that old. Especially when I like the same type of music too.” (I always figured Ikaruga would be a classical girl.)
“Really? Well, then guess I am happy to admit that.”

Ikaruga smiled and we went back to looking at stands for a bit longer. As we walked, I accidentally bumped into someone. I went to apologize, but they were already gone. “(FN),  is everything alright?” Ikaruga asked. I looked at the crowed. “Yeah, everything is fine.” I said and continued on with her.

(Unknown POV)
I watched as the Knight and the girl walked on. I smirked and turned around to leave. I pulled out my phone and sent a text. “The Knight is located.” I sent.

“Understood. Keep an eye on him.” I received. I smiled and put my phone away. ‘Finally found you Knight.' I thought and went back into the crowed.
