AN: Welcome to the Prologue of The Wardens Call. Also, if any point random parts start showing up, that is me just getting use to how to post on Wattpad.
Anyway, this will be a mature series, as I hope to try and maybe go beyond my boundaries. You know, break the comfort zone and what not.
Anyway, enjoy!

(Third Person)
Some say, legends are nothing more but that: A legend. That they only exist to entertain small children, or inspire writers. That all legends are simply myths of old.But they couldn't be farther from the truth. Some legends, are real.
Demons. Creatures of pure evil. All of the hate, greed, anger, and lust that makes wicked human wicked. For this, the Demons have been hunted by an order seek to purge this world of such monsters: The Gray Wardens.
They are the men and woman who have dedicated their lives to the single act of hunting down these monsters and killing them all. But, this isn't without sacrifice. In order for the Wardens to not feel the temptation or corruption of the demons, they drink the very blood of the beasts. This gives them the power to fight the creatures, but at a cost of not only losing a bit of their humanity, but of death.
Some never truly control the demons blood, and there for can go mad. They are then killed. Those who do, live with the fact that for the remainder of their lives, the demons very own blood flows through them.
But, there is a chapter in the Wardens books that is largely unknown, and forgotten. The Gray Knights. You see, Japan has it's own set of demons, ghosts and the like, but one type of monster runs wild through out Japan.
Yoma
These demons are made when the blood of Shinobi, whether they be Light or Dark Shinobi, is spilled. Even a single drop, and bring forth a Yoma that is fully grown, and hungry for human flesh. And for this, the Gray Knights were formed. Like their Warden brothers, the knights drink from Yoma blood to become stronger. This however, raised new problems for the Knights, the first being what they received.
Every Knight became stronger, faster, more agile and perceptive. They even gained some sort of resistance to poisons and illnesses. But at a cost. They receive what is known as a Yoma rage.
The rage is activated when the Knight is ether so in grossed in a fight, or is in enough pain to cause them to unleash their darkest of emotions, thus sending into the rage. A state, where friend and foe become a blur, and they attack until either the enemy is dead or the Knight. For this, a part of Knight training is to suppress emotions, to only let them out in times of pure peace. But for some, this moment never comes.
The Gray Knights, like any member of the Wardens was to eliminate any and all Yoma. But one member, a Knight by the name of Alexander, had an idea that would lead to the end of the Gray Knights. (Sorry if your name is Alexander. I just thought of that off the top of my head.) If the Shinobi were the reason for the Yoma, then it made sense to kill the Shinobi.
This began the Warden-Shinobi war and for three hundred years, this war went on. However, with the Knights fighting the Shinobi and the Yoma, they were not only stretched thin, and did not have the power they once did. The final battle of the war was when a hundred Knights, high ranking members, cladded in the best gear for the time, marched and stormed one of the Shinobi castles.
A hundred men enter.
Only thirty left.
Of that thirty, fifteen died while running from the Shinobi.
And soon, only five made it back to their base.
The official report given was that all of the Knights died in the castle. That their bodies now gone, and thus, making it believed that the Gray Knight's no longer live. And thus, leaving them to wither into a forgotten chapter of the Warden's history.
Or so, it was thought.
(Years later)
A lone figure walks through the woods, the bitter chill of the fall wind flowing through the trees, making leafs of orange, gold and red fall to the ground, crunching under his shoes. He had a hoodie pulled over his head, to keep the wind from chilling him to much as he walked past the trees.Eventually, he stopped when he felt something, a aura he was all to familiar with. The aura, of danger, and death. He looked around the area until his eyes met the red ones of the creature eyeing him. It's large shadow was casted by the moonlight, along with the tree's shadows. It's large body was visible, wolf shaped. It's fur, black as the darkest parts of shadow, teeth sharp as daggers. It's horns, long and pointed, and spikes equally as sharp.
The Yoma growled and readied itself as it was about to charge the young man. He smirked and moved the case on his back and readied it. The wolf roared and charged, smashing trees and rocks as it barreled towards him. Opening the case on his back, a sword in this sheath emerged as the case fell to the ground. The man drew the sword quickly and spun as his blade went into the Yoma's mouth, and the momentum of the best made it cut itself on the sword.
The beast was sliced in half, it's blood pouring and soaking the earth below as it began to decay and turn into a black mist. The man swiped his blade and the blade was cleaned. He sheathed it and put it back into the case once again. He let out a breath, his body now warmed from the encounter. After calming down, the picked up the case and began to walk again, slowly fading into the shadows of the tree.
