Air's so thick I can hardly breathe
Concrete goes as far as the eye can see
Feet keep going don't give up on me
Chest is hurting, pain so bad
That's ok I got a rag
Wipe away the sweat and keep on going
There over the hill what do I see?
Why it's another hill looking at me
I glare at the hill cuz it's not gonna beat me
Pain in my calf I can feel it real bad
If I speed up maybe it will go away
No No No I'm told, slow down and give it a rest
Gotta keep going can't give up
Air is so cold, I'm wishing for my bed
A couple more steps and I'm done
I see the last stretch straight ahead
Calf feels better, glad I listened
Final spurt of speed then ice quenching water
