It was weird. I felt like I was floating. It was just darkness and emptiness. I couldn't see anything and i couldn't feel anything but I was still existing. It was weird.
I tried to move but it was like i wasn't there. As if I was an atom. Nothing changed for a while it was just peace and calmness.
Pain struck again and i could feel it. I could feel everything. My arms, my legs and my injured abdomen. I tried to open my eyes but it was still darkness. But then i realised I was wrapped in something. I couldn't move properly, only my head. My slightly shifted my hands and could feel the material, it was the carpet from Leo's rooms. I started to panic more.
I shuffled until the carpet started to roll. And eventually I felt air. I was outside in the forest by the fields. I heard a noise behind me. I tried to stand up but it was difficult, I was still in a lot of pain. It was dark outside but the light from the moon still showed me the surroundings.
I eventually sat up and looked down at my top. It was covered in blood. I lifted up to check my stomach but it was healed. I didn't know what to do. I was shocked and so confused. I was shot twice and it was like it didn't even happen. I turned around to look where the noise was coming from and saw him. My killer, Mick. He was digging, it was dark so it was still difficult to see. He was so concerned with that he didn't even see me.
I slowly stood up and hid behind a tree. I looked around but I couldn't see the house in the distance. He took me further out than I thought. But I still recognised the fields. I tried to breathe properly but it was still a struggle, especially with the traumatic experience I went through.
I made my way to the truck he must of drove me here in. It was a lot further than I thought. I collapsed again, it felt like the bullets were still inside me. Wait. What if they were still inside me. It's not like they'd just fall out. I must of healed and they're still stuck in my stomach. I tried to push myself of the ground, but any straining movements made the pain worse.
I had to move, otherwise he'd find me and probably kill me again. I stood up and dealt with the pain. I moved as quickly as I could to the truck and hid behind it. I got in and luckily the keys were inside, I turned the key and the engine started. I made too much noise and it alerted Mick. I turned the headlights on which shined straight on him. He looked really confused, more than I did. He had dug the hole for me, to bury me, thank god I woke up before I was buried. He started moving towards the truck so I quickly drove it away. He tried to run after it but couldn't keep up. I drove towards the house and eventually got there. I stopped the vehicle and rushed out and into the house. I could hear my mom sobbing upstairs and Leo was more than likely in my room. I ran upstairs and into my room and saw Leo lying on my floor, he looked numb. I fell onto the floor beside him and some him up. He was about to yell before I put my hand over his mouth.
"Listen to me, I don't know what's happening but for some reason I'm alive and we need to get out of here." I tried to explain quickly. I needed to get him and my mom out of here before Mick got back. Leo looked and me and hugged me.
"I don't care how you're here, I'm just glad you are." He looked so relived and I was happy to see him smile again.
"Grab a bag and get the stuff you need. Five minutes tops then get your bike." He nodded and went to his room. "Oh and remember your helmet." I loudly said and then I started to gather things I needed."Cassandra?" The voice was weak and fragile. It was my mom. I opened the door and saw here standing there in complete shock. "How?" She asked tilting her head.
"Mom listen, we don't have time, I don't know how I'm alive I just am. But we need to go. Mom get your stuff and come with us." I said reaching for her hand.
"We can start again, Mick made a mistake but it's ok now because you're alive now so we can do this family thing properly." She just babbled on, she must of been stuck in a state of shock because what she was saying was stupid.
"Mom he shot me. Twice!"
"But you're alive."
"I can't believe you want to stay with him. Me and Leo are leaving, whether you come with us is your choice but we are not staying here any longer." I was so disgusted with her. She's meant to care for her children more than she would for anything or anyone else but all she wanted was him. I pushed past her and went to his office, I stuffed my bag with all the cash in his safe and went downstairs to find Leo. He was outside but so was Mick. I dropped the bag and Mick was holding Leo.
"What the fuck." He growled at me.
"Let him go." I stared him down.
"How are you alive, are you some sort of witch?" I laughed at his pathetic comment.
"Let him go Mick." I said again, I was fuming and ready to blow.
"Maybe I should kill him instead. He might stay dead." He went to grab Leo's neck but I screamed so loudly, the wave of power came surging from my body and it directed at Mick. It sent him flying back. I stopped and looked down at my hands which felt like they were on fire. Leo didn't know what to do and neither did I. We both grabbed our bags and our bikes and rode off as quickly as we could. We headed for the bus station. It was late so only coaches were coming in and out. We left our bikes and got on the first one, I didn't even care where it was going I just wanted to escape. There was one other person on the bus. Me and Leo made our way to the back and sat down.
"Thank you Cas." He said quietly.
"For what."
"Saving me." I smiled and embraced him. It was going to be a long journey but I'm glad I could get him out.I didn't know what was happening to me or why I was still alive but I'm glad I was. Maybe this happened for a reason or maybe it didn't, either way we're both safe.
