The coach stopped, it was early in the morning and the station was nice and quiet. We both got off the coach and headed into the town. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It was a lot better than our town. We went to the nearest cafe and I brought us both breakfast and it was nice eating something filling. We were the only ones in there so we sat in a booth.
"I'm glad we're here." Leo stuffed his breakfast down his throat like he hadn't eaten in a week.
"Me too buddy." I replied.

After breakfast we walked around for a bit. We found this motel, it was quaint. It was so much better than our home.

We hadn't spoken about what had happened much. We both didn't really know what to say, there wasn't really an explanation for it. I don't understand it.

I hid the money under the mattress and put some of the clothes I brought in the draw.

"Did you bring the phone?" I asked.
"Yes it's in my bag."
"Ok that's good, always keep it on you." I wanted to be able to stay in contact with him no matter what. With Mick still alive and me having stolen all his money he wasn't going to be happy. I'm sure he's already looking for us.

I turned on the tv in the room and the worst thing happened. My face was all over the news and so was Leo's. Mick must have told the police I stole his money and kidnapped Leo because I was a wanted criminal. They were saying I had a psychotic break and flipped out causing me to kidnap my own brother. Even without that bastard in my life he still finds a way to torture me.
Leo didn't look impressed, he looked angry but I didn't want him to worry about anything anymore. I switched the tv off and turned to Leo.
"Lets go out and do something." I said trying to change the subject.
"But what if someone recognises you." He asked worried.
"I better go get a haircut then." I smiled not wanting to seem worried but I was. I knew sooner or later someone would know who I was and I didn't want to spend the rest of my life on the run.

We found the nearest hairdressers and went inside.
"Hey how can I help you." The girl on the front desk asked. She had long blonde hair and a full face of makeup, she looked superficial.
"I'd like a whole new look." I replied and she smirked as if to say I needed one. I didn't care about people judging me, I didn't care in high school and I still don't now. The girl lead me to the available seat where the hairdresser came over.
"A whole new look ay?" She smiled.
"Yes, I want to feel great, to feel like I'm in charge of my life again." I said looking at myself in the mirror. My hair was old and unwashed, my clothes too. I needed a new look desperately and this was my opportunity to do it.
"So you want an empowering look." She said grabbing her brush. "I know just the style."
Over an hour later she was finished, I looked in the mirror and it was so different. I think she gave my hair highlights and it looked shiny and full of volume. It looked so new. I loved it, as girly as it sounds it made me feel great. Leo gave me a look of approval which made it even better.

I paid and we left the store.
"Can we go food shopping." Leo asked excitedly.
"Of course we can." We made our way around town and found a superstore and did a huge food shop. It was nice putting junk food in our trolley. Leo loved it and it made me happy.
We carried all the bags back to the motel and unpacked.
"Now give me all your clothes, because I'm going to wash them at the laundrette." I smiled.
"Why don't we go and buy new ones." He asked
"Do you know what, that's a great idea." I stated. I grabbed some more cash and we went shopping. We first visited a thrift store as we didn't want to spend loads of money and we were both used to cheap clothes anyway so it never bothered us.

Whilst we were rummaging through the clothes in the store I came across this jean jacket, it was like a hoodie as well with grey sleeves and a hood. I instantly fell in love with it and the best part was that it fit. I immediately purchased it and put it on. It felt like I had this new identity. I felt free, even being wanted.

I dropped to the floor in pain. It was my stomach again, it felt like my food was stuck or going somewhere where it wasn't supposed to. Leo rushed over to me.
"Cas? Hey Cassandra? Are you ok, what's a matter?" He was panicking. The employee who was in the store started to call and ambulance. I held my stomach, I was in a lot of pain. "Is it to do with the thing that happened?" Leo asked quietly making sure the guy working didn't hear. I shook my head, the incident that happened had a different feeling, that felt more powerful but this was just pure pain. It was the same I felt when I woke up after dying. It was the bullets. It they didn't kill me the first time they were definitely trying their hardest to do it again.
