It was five munutes till the show started and I was shaking. Usually I'm not nervous about preforming. I had done it so many times before and it came naturally to me. But there was a lot to be nervous about for tonights show. Once I found the girl on twitter I DM'd her asking her about her sister. She said that it was her cousin that was with her that night, not her sister. She began to tell me more after freaking out that I had messaged her. She was cute, fourteen, a big fan and her name was Sammy.
I didn't just want to ask her about her cousin and then forget her, she is a fan and she seemed really sweet. We ended up talking for an hour or so, I was getting information about the girl I later found out name was Whitney spelled Witny. It was stupid to get butterflies at the sight of her name typed on a message on my phone, but it still happened.
I still got them.
Sammy went on about her being eighteen and in her first year of college. Damn, she was older.
Of course that didn't really bother me but if I wanted a chance to talk to her would she? I was seventeen and hadn't graduated high school yet. She might be picky about school, I didn't know. I didn't know anything about this girl! But I knew that I did want to know, I wanted to know everything about her. I had made the impulse decision to invite Sammy and her cousin to the show tonight. If I didn't met Witny I knew it would eat me alive inside, not just tonight or next week but for the whole tour.
Sammy replied that she had tickets already but, her cousin, didn't so I told her to tell her that her ticket would be at the front box waiting for her before the show. I knew that Sammy was bound to show Witny the conversation so I wanted to be nice as possible, not just because of her, I was a nice guy in general, but I didn't want Witny to think I was being rude to her little cousin. The guys were stunned while I was having the conversation with Sammy demanding to know who the hell was Witny and how I knew her.
I then went on to explain last night and they began making fun of me saying what a hopeless romantic I was. I already knew that, but if anyone ever had any doubts, this would prove them wrong. I couldn't concentrate the rest of the rehershal but this was a different distracted than before. I was smiling, picturing Witny in the crowd, trying out diferent moves to impress her. It was childish but I liked the idea of impressing a girl. It seemed right, seemed to fit what I needed in my life.
Now we are moments away from going on stage for our first LA show and I'm about to preform for Witny. I look around for our manager and see him in the corner talking to a friend of the bands. I quickly go over to him and tap his shoulder.
"Did she pick it up?" He looks at me and sighs.
"Yeah about five minutes ago."
That meant that she was here already, she was somewhere in the crowd. Oh god that made me that much more nervous.
I pick up my guitar and start to tune it, trying to get my mind off of Witny but, of course, getting nowhere at all. I slowly start to relax when I start going through our set list in my head. The lyrics flow into my mind and I start to play the cords on the guitar. All I have to do is get through ten songs and then I can met this mystery girl that somehow made her way into my dreams.
"It's time you guys, enter stage left."
I take a deep breath and put my ear piece in my ear.
Here we go.
