Red Queen

As Colonel Kent was fleeing the battlefield against the Russian Empire, he stumbled into a safe area and dropped to the ground to catch his breath. Kent was dying, he took a minute to reflect on what was happening and let it sink in, he had a journal documented with the events that had taken place in front of him in these last couple hours, Kent was shot, and brutally beaten by a military squad of the Russian Empire. He managed an escape, only due to a ambush by the rest of the resistance. Forgotten by the resistance, Kent lay near a collapsed gothic cathedral, like the one his mother use to tell him about in the older times before Russia's rise through nuclear annihilation of The Allies. Kent sat on the ground, a gush of red elixir pouring through his tattered and torn black shirt; A gash across his forehead was dripping with even more blood. Kent was fading fast and there was nothing he could do about it; bones broken, neck fractured and his lungs punctured, it seemed as if he whole body was damaged like a pane of shattered glass. Kent managed to finish his documentation of today; hopefully the resistance will find it. With one last painful breath Kent quivered, "I'm sorry ... Mordecai, I tried to ..... keep my head in the game. See you soon mother." Very soon, a decisive battle between a communist empire, and the last of a shaking, cornered, and furious rebellion is about to take place. Kent would not be alive for this battle, he would never know the outcome. But it didn't mattered now, what mattered to Kent was that he took a stand against the Russian empire. *No matter* he thought he looked up at the ceiling of the cathedral and smirked "all's fair in love and war" and with a solemn sigh he whispered "goodbye you cruel world you" , he did as much as he could, and Kent felt accomplished. His body remained, to be found later on after the dust has settled. Within the year, the world was going to change, either for better...or worse.

"Listen up men!" shouted Mordecai. " You think that this filth of an empire is going down without a fight, well wake up buttercup, you're gonna get a rude awakening." " We are outmanned, outgunned, and outmatched... but we have something they don't have." "What, let's hear it Mordecai, what do you think we can do?!" Chanted the 400 men at his disposal. " Unlike those dirty scoundrels, we have stealth, and the element of surprise; also there's one thing i'm forgetting, gosh what's the name of it.... Oh yeah, Intel!" Everybody shouted in excitement, they thought they could overcome the Russian empire, no one had a single doubt in their mind they would win.

At that moment the speakers turned on, it was Terrance trying to broadcast to them. With a silent fury, Terrance exclaimed "What's that old saying? Never pick a fight with a man who's got nothing to lose. You see, I'm gonna show you rebels just how much you have to lose, and i'll start by bombarding that refuge that your relatives live in!" Everybody went pale, and silence filled the base. Mordecai laughed "Don't worry guys, he wouldn't dare do that. He doesn't have the armaments; He's just trying to fluster us, Ignore him." Terrance casually said " Ok, that's what you think; Listen to this!" A shudder shook the entire camp perimeter. In the distance a explosion was visible, and it was huge. They could only think about how quickly everyone had vanished. Several seconds passed by, nobody made a move, a sound wasn't to be heard. Mordecai was furious, "dammit Terrance, i'm gonna kill you; do you hear me?" Terrance felt what felt like a weight being lifted off his shoulders, he finally gave them what they deserve. Terrance then shouted "Hows this make you feel? You family killing psychopaths! I can never replace what you took from me, my wife, and my little boy are gone. But blowing up that pitiful refuge of yours that your pathetic families lived in... that's a start to a small recuperation." Mordecai refused to believe what happened. So many emotions whizzed through his heart and mind shock, despair, loss, and pure rage, lot's of rage. For a moment the hearts of every soldier in the rebellions immediately filled with anger and disbelief, they felt like they could take on the whole russian empire single handedly. There was a pause and then sadness started to overcome their rage filled hearts Terrance had literally taken everything from them few started to weep some started screaming some just collapsed under the weight of depression sinking in it felt like all was lost.
