The sun streamed in through my window. I rolled to the side not wanting to get up. Thinking back over yesterday's activities I remembered the head. Looking over at the shelf at the end of my bed I realized that my sketchbook wasn't there. Scanning the room I saw that it was over on the bookcase below my window.

I groaned, why is it over there? I thought annoyed. Lazily I got out of bed and trudged over to the window. Grabbing my book and pencils I sat back on my bed.

I drew the image in my head. She had silvery hair with aqua highlights. Her heart shaped face was beautiful with baby blue, cat like eyes with long dark lashes. She had high cheek bones and nicely plump lips. Her skin was tanned but not the orangish color. Her beauty made me slightly jealous.

If she were real she would most likely be the queen of Scarlet Cove High School. Grr that place gives me nightmares. Anyway lets just say that I wished that I looked a little bit more like her.

Looking at the clock I noticed that it was almost 9. I jumped off the bed and went and got my clothes for the day. You'd probably think, oh she lives on the beach so she'll wear standard beach and summer clothes. Wrong I wear what would be called the standard high school invisibility outfit. I dressed in dark skinny jeans with a white tank top, and a black jacket. To top that off I pulled on my favorite red converse.

If you think that I would get hot in that outfit, lets just say that it gets pretty cold here at the cove. After doing my hair and make up I packed my sketchbook, pencils, camera, and binoculars into my old and ratty black backpack. I went downstairs to the kitchen where my dad was making breakfast.

"What's the special occasion," I asked him.

"Oh nothing," he replied, "Am I not allowed to make breakfast for my favorite daughter?"

"Dad I'm your only daughter," I said with a half smile.

I ate the  eggs and pancakes that  he made. "I'm going down to the beach," I told him as I got up and put my plate in the dishwasher.

"Ok just don't be out too late," he called out to me as I shut the door.

"Don't worry I wont be," I called out to him as I left the house to see if I could get a glimpse of "Her".

Sitting on the public beach, because my dad didn't like me using ours alone I looked through my binoculars scanning the waves for movement. I was about to give up when I saw a flicker of movement. Looking back through my binoculars I grinned. It was her, the one that I had seen at the party. She beckoned me closer, my curiosity got the better of me and I came closer, walking out on the rocks. She swam up to the rocks making sure she was hidden from other bystanders view. She spoke to me saying, "come my sister, let us swim."

I told her that I couldn't go out for a swim because my dad was expecting me home soon.

She said,  "why don't you call for me in one moon. If you want to learn about your people."

What did she mean by your people? "Alright but how should I call for you, sister?" I said hoping to find out what she meant.

"Call my name," she whispered.

"What is your name?"

"They call me Sirena."

I watched her as she disappeared into the ocean leaving me stranded on the rocks. I turned back and made my way back to the beach to grab my stuff. I grabbed my bag and walked toward our private beach. Once I was on a familiar stretch of sand I found the trail that lead to our house. I hurried on up the path anxious to see Sirena again.

That night I lay in bed with my eyes open thinking of all that has happened to me. That's when I decided that it would be a great idea to create a journal. A journal of all that happened to me. I went to my shelf and grabbed an unused notebook and I turned to page one. Then I began to write.
