What is your truth?
I ask not in vain nor to cause animosity
Simply to understand your recklessness
What is your freedom?
Where were you?
Because ,I was there
Because ,I saw ,I felt
I ask not to undermine you nor look down upon you
Simply to see through your glassy eyes
What is your truth
What did you hear
When their war cry pierced the air
When they took up arms, not to draw blood but seize fire
I ask not to belittle you nor disrespect you
Simply to know
What is your free truth
YOU seem to have lost your free truth
What happened to your humanity, your ubuntu?
You preach to the world what it earns to hear
What happened to practice what you preach?
Were you really never there
Does it not really matter
YOU know they fought to break free
Fought to live on their own terms
Yet you trap them in a set of rules meant to "govern" YOU say
Where is your true freedom I still ask
When kids are still hungry ,women still beaten and raped
Where is your truth
When girls still can't go to school?
What is your truth
When innocent people die protecting this lie YOU named freedom.
What is our freedom
When we are not poor enough to deserve it yet not wealthy enough to pay for it
I ask out of great respect
What is your free truth?
How do you sleep when you know the number of sleepless nights they had fighting for freedom
How do you get on that plane to tour the world
When you know the amount of tax they pay and still can't feed themselves?
How do you smile at the whole world and wave
How do you tell the world they are free
Yes YOU are free,are they?
What is your free truth???
