Chapter 2

One of the bodies looked bigger than the other. When I looked more closely, I saw a lady holding a baby in her arms covered in dust and dirt. Sadness rolled over me as I saw what might have happened to Abuelita. I still walked to the sunlight in the horizon. Everything was very clear, I see bricks scattered everywhere. Some people were crushed under piles of bricks and dust. Many people I didn't recognized lay dead, some survived and some woke to see if any friends or family members were alive.
Many wept while few helped another, I could still hear the cries and shouts of women and children. Then the floor started shaking again, the screams and shouts got louder and louder. I fell again, crawling to get cover, building rumbled again as everything went dark. Then everything got silent once more, I crawled out of hiding and looked around and saw a rip in the floor. Struggling to keep my feet from struggling, I stand up. The dust stung my eyes, and found it very hard to breathe. Then a burst of energy enters my legs and I start to run to find water. My eyes burning like fire and my throat feeling as if I swallowed a mouthful of feathers, trying not to fall again I jump over piles of stone and bricks I come across.
