Chapter 9: As Life Goes on

I never planned a honeymoon but Fred surprised me saying we are going to the leaky cauldron for a weekend. It might have been small and humble but was great to be there with Fred. He looks at me so sweetly over the weekend, more so than usual. After the weekend is over we go back home. We get back to work right away, not much of a choice though. George spends almost all his time out of work with Angelina lately. Ron dates all kinds of people lately, but I don't think he is cheating on anyone anymore. Harry decided to go back to hogwarts with Ginny to see her more and help her study, but I also think he just wanted to see Mcgonagall. He is staying in hogsmeade but going up everyday. Fred and I go up to Mrs Weasley's for dinner the night we got back. Fred makes the new products he has been trying to forever now. We keep climbing in our carers and within a year George is marrying Angelina, Ginny and Harry are in their own place and Ron is still immature but he is starting to go out with a girl more than one night. Fred and I started to talk about moving out of the house we share with Fred. We eventually do move out, we live in a four bedroom three bathroom house. Life starts to go by quickly. Within no time George and Angelina are married, Bill and Fleur are having another kid, Harry and Ginny are engaged, and Ron is starting to date a person seriously. I like where me and Fred are. I felt so comfortable that everything was great. As it always happens that is when something changes. I had skipped my period for a few months and one morning I was sick. Fred didn't want to leave me alone so he sent George an owl saying he won't be in. Later in the day I was feeling better but not great.

"Hey, Fred. I wonder if I'm pregnant."

"What?"

"Well, I havn't had my period for a while now and getting sick this morning. Do you think you can get one of those tests?"

"Yeah sure, but we haven't had sex for a few weeks now."

"That doesn't matter, we can still be pregnant, please I'll be okay. I'll drink plenty of liquid from now and then."

"Okay, be safe. I love you." Fred bends down to kiss me before he operates out. I get up and drink a glass of water and as I fill it back up fred is back. "I'll be right back." When I finish I wave the test around. I walk out to see Fred pacing the room.

"What if it's positive, Hermione where will we put the child?"

"Fred, everything will be okay, I promise. No matter what happens I love you so much." I put down the test and go over and wrap my arms around fred.

"What would I do without my 'Mione?" He wraps his arms around me too. "Now let's see if we get to parents." A nod and look at the test. Its positive. My eyes fill with tears and I am very hopeful.

"Were having a baby." I say it barely at a whisper. I look at him and say it louder. I was crying and Fred had begun to as well.

"Hermione, we need to tell everyone. Do we have time to plan a quick dinner to have everyone over?"

"We can make something quick. Fred we need to get the word around."

"I can tell mum and I can apparate around to tell everyone."

"Great I'll go with you."

"No, you can't apparate anymore."

"You're kidding, that's the best way to get around."

"Sorry, but just like there are things you can't eat there are things that you can't do magically. It puts a lot of pressure where the baby is and it's not a good idea. I'll be back soon. Oh yeah by the way I'm sending Harry here right away." Without another word Fred apparated out. I walk in the bathroom and put the test on the counter. I look in the mirror and can't help but smile. I'm going to be a mom. The only issue is me and Fred are still young, I am only 20 and he is 22. We will be some of the youngest parents. I want to send the child to muggle school, even though they will not be required to go. I walk back to the kitchen where I fill my glass up with more water. I smile because there is nothing else for me to do. After about five minutes Harry shows up.
