It was a misty Sunday morning but he didn't mind. Actually he liked bad weather sometimes. It makes it even more cozy inside. And he finally wanted to read that book that's been on the table next to his couch for weeks.
But before he could curl himself up on the sofa, he had breakfast with his parents.
They came over and they sat together at the table. He loved to see them but one thing really turned his stomach.
"So Benny, darling, have you met a nice woman since the last time we saw you?", asked Wanda, his mother.
Great! Here we go!
"Umm no Mum I didn't.", he sighed.
"I saw that eye-rolling, Mister! What about this event you went on last week? Wasn't there a nice lady?"
Yeah right. The event. Laura. He wondered if she was alright. He's wondered it since he saw the elevator doors closing. But she didn't contact him. And sadly he was too busy to do it himself.
"No he didn't. But he bought this photograph there.", his father interrupted his thoughts. "Why did you buy that one?"
"I like it and it was for a good cause. What's wrong with it?"
"Hmm. It's kind of..."
A animated discussion about the photograph started. He gave his father a thankful look. He could always count on him.
Their discussion was interrupted by the doorbell.
"Who could that be, this early...?", Ben murmured while he walked to the door.
"Maybe the lady your mum is dreaming of!", said his father and got a played nasty look from Wanda.
Ben chuckled and opened the door.
His smile disappeared within a second.
"Oh my god!"
