Clay Jensen – a nobody.
A boy, who's sitting in the back corner of the library and reads.
A boy, who's sitting at a table, all on his own, listening to music.
A nobody, that people usually avoid.
A few years ago he had a best friend - Tony Padilla. They went to school together, drove bicycles, and met regularly. Even though they lived in two different districts. Clay lives in a neighborhood, where people would say, that rich people lived. Tony, on the other hand, lives in a district where bad things happen all the time. Robbery and fights are part of Tony's life.
In high school, the two meet again. Quickly, Clay realizes that something is wrong. He feels weird whenever Tony is near him, and also Tony realizes that there's something between them. Clay wonders if Tony is playing with him and takes him to task.
