prologue

It was dark. I could only hear some blurry voices outside the door, and Jihoon's breath near me.

"Shh.." He whispered slowly beside my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

"Hmm?" I replied nervously, as I tried to distance myself away from being too close to him.

But he suddenly pulled my hand, closing the gap between us. "Come here." He whispered again, making my heart nearly burst out.

"Jihoon oppa-" I complain nervously in a stutter.

I literally feel him smirking. "You don't want to get caught, do you?"

He was clearly enjoying this.

He put his arms around my shoulder, keeping me close to him.

Dangerously close.

"What the hell, you both?" The door suddenly burst open, revealing the bright light and two tall figures, which is clearly laughing at us.

"Are you guys making a love shack?!" Joo Woon laughed loudly, amused by the sight he was looking.

My cheeks instantly turned red, and it only created more laugh to them.

"Man, I should have not volunteered to join this hide-and-seek game." Jongyeon laughed, while sighing lightly.

Jihoon chuckled as I quickly walked out from the that locker, embarrassed. I tidy my hair and clothes in a rush, and turned back to face them.

Jihoon chuckled, "Hey, at least it's worth the hide. You guys needed like an half hour to find us. Right, (yn)?" He looked at me to back him up.

I laughed. "Yeah, we won. So Jongyeon, ready to pay up the dinner for us?" I asked happily, while giving Jihoon a high five.

Jongyeon rolled his eyes, and sighed. "Do I really have to pay for you both? It's not like you guys didn't enjoy it.." Jongyeon winked at us.

"Hey!" I slapped Jongyeon's shoulder lightly, as he chuckled.

Jihoon laughed. "Guilty as charged."

I glared at him and he playfully gave the peace finger to me.

Man, I really love this guy sometimes.

Jihoon and I are really close, since we got in together to this entertainment as trainees in the same time. I was totally clueless that time, while on the other hand, he was really quick to adapt since he's been in SM and Fantagio before.

We naturally became close since we figured out a lot of things together, and he helped me catch up big time. We went through a lot together, and it made us inseparable in some ways.

I would never have imagined things without him, cause I'll be totally lost without him.

Later at night, we walked to a restaurant near our building. "So, what do you want to order?" Jongyeon asked the three of us, as he took out his wallet.

"Pizza!" The three of us said in unison, like three hungry kids. It was our favorite, and it's kind of cheaper too so Jongyeon won't pay up too much. Haha.

"Okay children. Wait for this hyung to order!" He playfully replied.

Jongyeon then went to order as we sat at the restaurant.

"It's great that we won again!" Joo Woon cheekily declared, as we cheered along.

I sighed. "I'll miss times like this with you guys." I said randomly.

Jihoon looked at me, his expression dropping. "Hey, don't make us sad. What's on your mind?"

I sighed. "Do you guys know about the Produce 101 announcement?"

Joo Woon was shocked. "What?! It's coming out already?"

I checked my phone again to make sure. "Coach says that the trainees are going to be announced tomorrow." I replied, making both of them smile.

"Wow, that fast!? Aigooo, so nervous!" Joo Woon exclaimed, as Jihoon chuckled.

I smiled to them genuinely, even though I'm a bit sad inside. That means tomorrow they might leave me to have a chance to debut. I know we'll separate ways one day, but I didn't expect it to be this soon.

I should be happy for them, not be selfish.

"Hwaiting you all!" I clapped for them.

"I hope we'll get to debut together though." Jihoon muttered, as Jongyeon went back after ordering and brought the pizza.

"Kamsahamnida!!" We cheerfully thanked him and munched the pizzas together.

It was all a really great time, eating together everyday, laughing through lame jokes, sharing our thoughts and practicing together. I really like being with them, especially Jihoon. Maybe more than that, actually. But being in a relationship is the last thing that we could think of, especially if we are going to debut.

We are satisfied with our relationship now. Close friends who support each other's back.

"I really had a great time with you guys, really. You guys are the best. I wish we could always do this." I smiled to them, as we walk back to the dorm in the moonlight.

"Hey, don't make me sad. You put it as if we're going to leave anytime soon." Jihoon nudged my hand.

I smiled. "You are, and I'm happy for you, Jihoon-oppa."

I continued as I sighed. "I'll get lost without you, though."

I looked down sad, thinking about the future ahead of us all.

Jihoon wrapped his hand around mine. "You won't get lost, okay? Because I'm not going to leave you." He assured me with his small smile.

"Really? But you're debuting."

"So? It's not like I won't have your back anymore, because I will, whether you like it or not."

"For real?" My eyes lit up as I looked at him, and he laughed.

"Yeah, for real. Promise." He said, as he lift up his pinkie.

"Promise, Jihoon-oppa." I hold up my pinkie to him.

"Cry-baby." He teased, while connecting his pinkie to mine.

Jongyeon and Joo Woon coughed fakely behind us.

"You guys should really date." Jongyeon joked sarcasticly.

"Oh jagi, come here!" Joo Woon pretended to imitate me and Jihoon as he hugged Jongyeon from the back.

"Stop it, you fart!" Jongyeon slowly kicked Joo Woon's leg.

We thought that it's always going to be like this. Well, at least I thought that it is. I feared for us to be apart, though I know at the end we'll part ways.

And I woke up the next day, the day I feared most.

"Hey, (yn)! Do you hear about the news?" Mina enthusiastically asked.

"What news?" I asked back, not knowing anything.

"The Produce 101 news! They say it's going to be announced now!" Mina clapped happily.

When I was just processing this, one of the staff members walked through the hall, followed by many trainees behind. He was carrying a large brochure and pasting it on the board.

Mina took my hand as we went together to the announcement.

"Look! There it is!" She jumped all over energetically.

"Trainees for the Produce 101-" Mina read, as I read together with her.

"Han Jongyeon, Kwon Hyeob, and-"

"Park Jihoon."
